Is Nodame Cantabile nice?I've heard a lot about it but I'm having second thoughts since it's josei and all.

It's a great anime. One of the best dramas i have seen in anime. It's all brilliant(at least on the 1st season)...the characters/animation/music etc.

I highly recommend as it's one of my favorite anime.

hmm.. then it shall be on my VERY long waiting list XD

For me, the best anime has to be Hanasaku Iroha. However, Ano Hana is indeed awesome though Menma is annoying, which is probably the reason why it's not my number 1.

For this season, I also recommend Steins;Gate especially and C (The Money of Soul and Possibility Control). I also liked Moshidora, and I haven't watched Hidan no Aria so I can't say anything about it. Deadman Wonderland is epic for the first 2 episodes and then it kind of fell apart for me in episode 3 and 4.

I think I'm just more into girls that are kind of cool and cold now instead of cutesy ones.

Steins;Gate is amazing. The interactions between Makise Kurisu and Okabe Rintaro (who prefers to call himself Hououin Kyoma) are unparalle. Besides, the character design for Kurisu is really pretty, in my opinion.

You say that like it's a bad thing.  And really, it's only like 20% of the way through the series so far.  The mindscrewing has only barely started (and to be honest, only really happened in ep1 so far).

Besides, the character design for Kurisu is really pretty, in my opinion.

Yes, especially when CHRISTINA wears a lab coat.

Masterpiece. Better than Nodame Cantabile. More mature too.

It doesn't.  It's made by the same company (NitroPlus), who has stated it's in the same "universe", but there's no actual connection between the two series.
