Two young guys died. Police concluded that it was accidental suicide:
Those two took tubes from fluorescent lamps, filled tubes with gasoline and set them on fire. Guys died because of the gasoline explosion.

But what did they tried to do? (Considering that death was not in their plans)

No. That's not correct. In that case they would've tried to connect electricity to it.

P.S. I pre-tested this riddle on my friends, so the correct answer is possible to find based on the given text.
