Eden of the East Question

Post by arielrachel0527 »

For those who have finished Eden of the East, doesn't the ending of the last episode felt incomplete? I know that there are 2 movies out that continue the story but so far, I've heard criticisms about them so should I watch them? If I do, would I get a complete ending?

Hey ariel,

Honestly, I thought the episodes of Eden of the East were pretty good, but I couldn't even get past the first movie - to me, it just seemed like a fat Shojou spectacular where nothing happened :/

Just my opinion, I dropped the series after that.  I'd say just give it a shot, and within the first 20 minutes you're not captivated by it, drop it.

Don't expect anything extraordinary though.  Plus, another factor could be that I'm usually not too big on anime movies.

I thought the series was awesome so that's why I would like to see the movie. Anyway, I'll give it a try and thanks a lot. :)

It was alright, I didn't find any characters that I particularly liked, and I wished the whole mystery/Selecao aspect was more intricate..but it kind of took a back seat compared to the romance in the story :/  it's short sweet series (the episodes I mean) if you just want to burn some time.

I've finally had the chance to start on the movies, and for the first 37 minutes, the movie was dragging so much that I almost could not stand it. But at that time, Eden movie was the only thing I had with me at school that I could watch, so I ended up finishing it despite the horrible beginning. Once it got past 40 minutes, things are starting to pick up but somewhat slowly. The ending was horrible because it's even more of a cliffhanger than the series. Oh well, since I'm already this far, I may as well watch movie 2. But I agree with you, ranger, I should not have watched the movie, and yes I do wish the mystery aspect was more and much less shoujo. I like shoujo a lot in general but Saki is just a bit annoying for me to like that aspect.

Apparently the first movie leads up to the second. I haven't watched the movie yet, just because I was waiting for the second movie.

I thought I replied to this topic earlier... Hmm!

Regardless, I originally set out to watch the series of this just because of Oasis contributing the opening theme. Watched a few minutes of an episode, realized it wasn't really my genre, and parted ways. The animation was quite nice if I recall.
