Yeah... I was wondering about that too... I mean... by "new" how new?... and do they mean "new" as official member new (for example, Akai was not really a member until he his meeting with Gin), because if that is the "new" then probably I can understand that Bourbon probably worked as underlings with Akai... then Akai gets the chance to meet Gin, then blew it... other than that, I'm a little confuse

That would make an interesting twist that Bourbon = fake Akai dressing up as Akai to get his target out without telling any of the other BO members. But, since it's been theorized, there is also that chance that it won't happen.  The only contradicting thing I could say with that is why would Boubon save Conan in the bank? (Unless, it was more like he doesn't want to be killed so he might as well take someone down?)

Anyways, I'm not going to try to pull too much speculation out of this. It all seems interesting all the way around. Whoever sent the text message at the end could be Okiya or Hattori. (Actually, I could picture Hattori typing it but that's just me.)

This is my main problem with the scarred!Akai being Bourbon rather than Vermouth. I guess it's possible that Bourbon was afraid that the desperate/angry robber would go on a spree killing and it'd be better to risk police attention by shooting him rather than getting shot by him, and shot him while attention was focused on Conan, not so much to "save" Conan. Or, he does think Conan might somehow link to Sherry (but since he's secretive and really wants to make sure Akai is dead first hasn't acted on those suspicions or told the Org. about them yet).

Actually I think we only got the confirmation that Bourbon really does exist, not that he is scar Akai. We also got a confirmation on a gender but still not an age. At this point Bourbon can be Yuminaga who got texted by Vermouth who is dressed up as Akai, it is only an assumption and a possibility as we don't know if Bourbon can disguise himself. He is just as much intelligent as Kudo Shinichi. If I were to write it I would stun everyone by revealing him to be Hakuba Suguru or someone else who was in love with Shiho. Heck, it can be a Chris Vinyard, we shall see

I never said it was confirmed that Scar akai was Bourbon, only that I was convinced beyond any reasonable doubt that it's the case. I'm pretty sure we don't have a gender confirmation yet. Japanese pronouns are often gender neutral which doesn't translate well to English.

Just like our language, and thus I like it more, btw French is more confusing. I don't know that much Japanese but I heard somewhere you know the one they are talking by determine the surrounding words

Nope, Shounen Jump takes a break next week, but Shounen Sunday doesn't. However, the week after next file, it seem that Conan is taking a one-week break.

Edit: or maybe, it's not that he had direct dealing with Akai before, but he just hates Akai for something that he has done? e.g. related to Akemi, etc...

I think the biggest question I want answered right now is whether Bourbon is an entirely new character, or whether he's someone else we've seen before who's in disguise...

I think Bourbon is a new character, but that's just a hunch and I have no proof to back it up. The reason why Bourbon hates Akai is probably related to Akai's time as a mole in the Syndicate. As someone said earlier, Bourbon might have been a lower rank agent before and has only recently been given a codename.

Totally off topic, but does Okiya's coffee line remind anyone else of Godot from Phoenix Wright? As soon as I read the line I had this vision of Okiya lobbing a coffee grenade at Gin.
