SO maybe Shinran36 won't go to my fanfiction thread, so to make things easier for her, i'm posting it here, too.

A little something for Shinran36 and for other Ran fans:

Rain

It was a cold night.

The sky was dim.
Trees sway.
Birds hide.

Lightning drew lines.
Thunder made noise.

Rain poured.

On days like this, memories, happy or sad, can fill your thoughts.

A girl is patiently waiting.
Waiting.
For someone.
She haven't heard in ages.

Out on her window.
Streets are wet.
Lights are flickering.

She can't help but feel the breeze.
It caressed her cheeks.
As if sympathizing with her.

Cold. Really cold.

The moon hid.
Unable to face her.
So did the stars.

They won't cooperate.
None of them wants to.

Nevertheless, she waited.

She picked up her phone.
Hoping for a call.

She turned on the TV.
Hoping she'd see him.

Why, of all things?
A murder satisfy him.

Must I be killed too?
That way, he can notice me.
He'll be with me.
Longer.

Is she unable to make him smile?
Is she worthless?
Is she nothing to him?

In the end, she got tired.
She went to bed.

But sleep won't come.

Ran, wait for me.

Shin'ichi, don't leave me.

Words they've been saying to each other.
Useless.

She wished for warmth.
The only thing she got was pain.

If only days like this can be skipped.
Then things can get back to normal.

Lively days when she can feel the sun.

Chatting with her friends.
Laughing with them.

But she can only hear...

The grievous melody of raindrops falling.
Unpleasant.

Makes her heart ache.
Makes her body numb.
Makes her mind blank.

She held the picture on her desk.
Memories.
It fancy her.
But it's not nearly enough.

She still wants to wait.

A knock.
A silent knock.

She opened the door.

A child came in.

Innocent-looking.

Oh, how she wished to be a child again.
No more worries.

Ran-neechan... what's the matter?

The sweet voice.
If only this child was him.
Then it can cure her lonely heart.

At last, she cannot hold back.

Tears came streaming down her cheeks.
Like raindrops falling.

Curse the rain.
Look forward to a rainbow.
