From my understanding, Someday in the Rain was AO and pretty well received.

so each AO would have a 5 minute scene of the same 5 seconds of animation?

...actually that does sound like an improvement...

Someday in the Rain was written by Tanigawa Nagaru (the creator/writer of the books) so its not traditional filler at all. Endless Eight really is filler since they have really gone off track compared to the books (even surpassing the number of repeats in ep 3) if Kyoani wanted to do filler though they could easily just look at Haruhi-chan instead of this.

Well anyway if it wasnt for the fact that we wont see Disappearance in the next 3 years I probably would be watching Endless Eight and enjoying it instead of being burnt.

They're still heavily hinting towards Disappearance.  Watch the ED of each episode of Endless Eight.  The part where Haruhi's on the screen in the background (first part of ED with credits) is the key spot.  Each episode, the distance between Haruhi's name and the rest of the SOS Brigade is getting larger.  Started off all grouped together.  Now they're about half the screen apart.

After watching the first episode I decided not to touch Haruhi Season 2 until it's finished.

Looks like I didn't miss much so far....

You wouldn't qualify much of Endless Eight as filler?
true, but I meant anime original filler. Which I honestly can't imagine what that would even be like.
The fanboys would zerg rush the studio xD

Hey, I have an idea, let's have a THIS SUCKS / NO THIS SUCKS / NO YOU / NO YOU argument for a couple pages, that will really be great. - Ingmar

just skip season 2, episode 7 (maybe episode 5 too?) and you'll be fine.

I dont see how they have 4 eps to get though sighs and disappearance with the 28 eps of this "Re-airing"

if they wanted to do filler they have proved that they can with Haruhi-chan, I mean Haruhi is pretty much 90% in character that entire show just slightly less caring.

They obviously aren't doing Disappearance within the 28 episode limit, but they're still hinting towards it.  That means either a true "second season" coming this winter, or a movie coming in December.

when did anyone say they were doing sigh again? I don't pay attention to all of the nerdy SUPER IMPORTANT ANIME INFO so...

I still think we'll be seeing some OVAs in the next year.

*minor spoilers*
If they are doing the stories in chronological order (which they have so far) Sighs will be after Endless Eight then the Movie (which Sighs is them making said movie) and the rest of the series, Disappearance is set a little after. Them making such a big deal about the frog suit kind of points to the fact too.

there's not much anime i can consider that ruined the manga version since i like anime more and doesn't mind the teeny-weeny difference, but i consider jigoku shoujo's manga waaay too low for the anime...

I'm surprised no one mentioned Dragon Ball. :P

Anyway, I'd say Sailor Moon to a certain extent.  It did have a lot of filler and quite a bit of changes.  I hated the fact that there wasn't more on Sailor V for it like the manga had.  The Sailor Moon manga seemed to have quite a bit of Sailor V references in the first few volumes.  Even the Sailor V game had more of a significance compared to the anime.

I disliked ChibiUsa's character for the anime too, but liked her for the manga.  Same goes for Mamoru.  Liked him for the manga, but felt he was 100% useless for the anime.

Would've liked the inclusion of the Asteroid Sensei (whom of which were the Amazoness Quartet) storyline.  Would've preferred the manga version of SuperS, which did include the outers and Hotaru going to school with ChibiUsa and Setsuna working at the school as the school's nurse.  Would've been nice of the anime to include why Makoto lived by herself (was mentioned for the manga).

Wish Stars would've made more sense in general.

Okay, done with the rant. lol  The other series that comes to mind that I truly disliked the anime for is Shin Shirayukihime Densetsu Pretear.  I really enjoyed its manga, though.  I hated the changes to the storyline.  I can name a lot of stuff, but I won't.

Another series I felt was better as a manga is Marmalade Boy.  Way better.  None of those extra unnecessary love quadrilaterals like the anime was doing.

Hahah well the dragonball series manga is so epic.  When I was little I just watched the anime for the sake of watching it animated xD.

Agree on all accounts about sailormoon.  WTF is with the super annoying rose throwing thing?!  Poor Mamoru xD.  I didn't watch all of sailormoon, the fact is it's so hard to get all the episodes for all the seasons.

I didn't even touch Pretear anime, glad I didn't.

Omg Marmalade Boy...agreed about the love quadrilaterals lol.  They just kept dragging on and introducing characters till it got confusing/frustrating/stupid.  Though I have to admit I love that series :].

This made me think of how different Cardcaptor Sakura anime is soooo different from the manga in sooo many ways! The biggest mistake I think was adding in Meilin....

I always thing of mangas and animes as additions to each other, even with the same story.

But I think the worst manga based off of a story was Kingdom Hearts....they didn't even have all of the worlds. Kingdom Hearts II was better.

Paranoia agent was a little different too.....One Piece anime drags on.....

Animes always seem to drag on to me.

(not DC of course, DC is in a different league XD)
