I guessed that it would be like that, the thing is that I need to see even under water. If I am blind how could I possibly find new kinds of underwater tea?

There's prescription diving masks if you like. You'll be able to see both above and under water, iirc.

Sounds great I'd really like such irl. Not that my eyesight is horrible (it is nothing compared to my friends sister who has -8, lacks depth perception and that is on her good eye,) but things do get blurry without glasses.

All I know is that when she was a child they had to special order glasses from England, but now she will soon do surgery to correct it. Although her eyesight will never be perfect.

-4 is pretty average, I think. Up to about -6 is considered moderate short-sightedness.

Hmm...surgery for that degree of short-sightedness is quite risky, since they have to do more to fully correct it. But I'm sure the surgeon has already discussed it with your friend. Hope it goes well.
