I'm okay with moving it up to 5 or 6. (Would be 4 or 5 my time, so not bad at all.)

I think the mayor problem people see with hints is, that it's random. Thus some people got hints more often than others (tho that's what random means too).

So I have an idea, since schilloks PO were mentioned and akos and my hint system.
I let the people decide what they would do. This affected, if they got a true hint or a false hint.

You want to give out gifts. To make it more equal, you could do it that way, that in one phase, everyone get's a gift (not giving some gifts after a time). This way, everyone has a "starting-hint" (which shouldn't give someone a disadvantage, since everyone would get one then).
But instead that the receiver can decide on the hint, the gift giver can decide this time.

So, if I'm Gin, I can choose from 3 different gifts, like: trench coat, cellphone, shampoo (or whatever you planed on XD)
All these 3 items should have a connection to my role (tho maybe the shampoo is too obvious in my example :x)
Anyway, this way, the player can decide on, what hint will be given out about your role. But you won't know who will receive the gift. That's what the GM will decide (since giving the BO a BO gift would be meh)

People can decide on it during night 1 for example. And get the gift on day 1 (you send the PM results when the day 1 phase begins. Or when the day 1 phase ends. Depends how fast you finish it)
Only people who wouldn't get a hint are the ones that die on night 1 and maybe day 1 :x
I like this idea.
If anyone is against Kleene's idea, then please post so. Otherwise I'll be doing it.
But Kleene, what does getting a gift do? If they receive a gift, then they'll just know that a certain role is in the game.
Is there a reward besides that?

Well, I thought it should be like you explained first (or how I read that XD).

Kleene is Gin. Akonyl is awesome Shinichi

Then I get a PM from the GM that I want to send a gift to someone, but I won't know to who (everyone will get such a PM):
I can decide on the gift being send. There are 3 different gifts. But I will just send one to one person.
Like: a) Gun b) Alkohol C) Brush (or something else than alcohol and Gun, like a coat or whatever. Something that can't be stolen from. Since that's a info a thief should actually get. But depend on what you wanna give out as a gift)

So, Akonyl will get a brush from Kleene for example. Akonyl will know that it was from Kleene and that it was a brush.
With that info, Akonyl could try to deduct what role I am. Brush could mean:
Someone with long hair or a female. It should be an item that isn't pointing towards the role for 100% (like steal-able items). That's the basic concept :P You can modify it XD

Also, reward. You could make it like a PO. They get the gift (like described above) But they have to do something in order to open it. But that would mean even more work. It also needs to be balanced. So that someone doesn't have it harder to be able to open the gift than someone else. Not sure if you wanna include that too D:

You could also change stuff. Like Kleene(Gin) gives a gift to Akonyl(Shinichi). But this time, Akonyl will know it's from Gin. And the hint in the box will hint towards a player. Tho that's harder, since not everyone knows the same stuff about each player :V

Not sure how you wanna do it. But you could make it that everyone gives a gift to someone: Kleene to akonyl
and then
A) Akonyl gives one to Kleene too
B) Akonyl gives it to someone else, not the one he received a gift from

A) could sound more "fair", since they get a hint from each other.
B) is more mixed and the BO could have a advantage if the combine their hints. (tho the same goes to town-alliances) It could also make people PM each other about the hints. Similar to grawwbears round with the fish XD



Btw. the bomber and vengeance dude wasn't my idea :x I just suggested some abilities to them XD


@Kogoro: Sorry for writing it here and not in the discussion thread (tho I paste it then)
Since there are more ways for Kogoro to get sober now, I think Kogoro should always be sober from the start, even if Eri, Ran, Conan or Shinichi aren't in the game.

Conditions to get sober would be:
- One of those roles: Eri, Ran, Conan or Shinichi dies (of course, a disguised role doesn't count)
- If Ran get's injured [disguise too? I think also without disguise? Tho that could tell Kogoro that Ran is a disguised player] (it won't be public that ran got injured. Kogoro will just get a PM for himself)
- If Kogoro get's his alcohol stolen
- When the 6th townie dies, he runs out of booze and will get sober, meaning his interrogation will return the correct result that night.

Changes
- Investigate Player X killed Player Y will be changed to PlayerX attacked Player Y. Therefore, attacks/killing can be easier to find. Attempted murder can be arrested for. If killing is discombobulated, then the attack didn't happen therefore the investigation would be false.
- If Kogoro gets his alcohol stolen, he becomes sober. Also, after the 6th town death, he gets sober.
- Police, FBI and Ayumi will get handcuffs added to stolen items.

Change in current roles abilities
- Korn will get reverse betrayal. But I don't think Vodka should get betrayal. Maybe a different new ability.
- If Nakamori uses pinch face on a disguised player, the disguiser is automatically arrested.
- I might make Pinch-Face night OR day action. So, once per phase. Why should it only be at night? Hmmm, but Kid does only steal at night :P
- Whenever  Jirokichi gem is stolen from, he will get in contact with Nakamori first. If Nakamori is not in the game, he will contact a random police. Once he contacts one police, he will not contact a different police when his gem is stolen again.
- If Ai is in the game, there will only be 2 BO that have no scent in the game.
- For Akai, If he get's attacked at night, Akai dies but will also injure his attacker (whether it's BO or not). If he get's lynched, the person he votes for dies. Also, since APTXing him would hinder his vengeance, maybe vengeance still goes through in case Akai get's lynched? Tho that's not necessary if the change described above is included

- Due to his paranoia, Numabuchi automatically stakes himself out. This can be investigated just as any normal stake-out.
- If Numabuchi goes two nights in a row without killing someone, his paranoia gets the best of him and he commits suicide that night.

- During any night phase, Numabuchi may choose to not kill someone.


Winning condition:
Numabuchi wins if he is alive (and not arrested) at the end of the game, no matter which side has won. (He manged to hide himself from the BO and could flee, no matter which side won the conflict).

- I think he is good the way he is. Wants to be alive (and free) at the end of the conflict and has no scruples to kill. Dangerous to town and BO, so both sides might consider leaving him around once they find him.

- The killing will continue even if you die before the end of night 5.            
- You have to kill 4 people, but you can add a new name to the list if only three people are still alive            
- APTX (Sherry) > Your kill > BO's kill: This means if the BO and you both decide to kill the same person during the night, the BO will fail their kill. If Sherry APTXs someone however, you fail and have to kill someone else instead later on

The Vengeful Killer wins when he killed his target. He will lose if the game ended without doing so.


Note:
- His target could be BO or town.
- He will want to draw out the game if possible and find his target. He does not care which side wins afterwards, as long as he got his revenge.
Questions:
- I'm debating whether to give the bomber blame. Two people being blamed a night, might not be so good IMO.
- Can the bomber kill Akai, Camel and Conan? I kind of want to make them exceptions because they escaped bombs in the story. XDD
- If Ai and Sherry are not both in the game, who can we add that will have "follow"?

Notes:
- The vengeful killer is getting steal because he needs to find his target.
- Bomber will not know how many police are left. Once the bomber kills all the police, he will be PM'd.
- I don't like having DB possible lovers. If they are lovers, they can only be lovers with other DB, Haibara or Conan. I'm against Kids + Adults. So should I make them possibility for lovers? Or make there be 2 DB?

Also, I would like to add Officer Tome into the game.
His ability could be like "Gather Evidence" and each night, the killer will lose an item and Tome will find it.
But if we do in fact do this, I say Tome cannot arrest. Please discuss.

As for Tome:
my idea for officer tome was just an officer with special investigate rather than investigate, + arrest. Special investigate would be changed to past actions only, and James/Kir would gain "Special Investigate 1 OR Investigate 1" instead of just special investigate.

and so we'll be doing 5-6 EST then? Looks like another badly-timed round for me D:

PT is okay with it. But, Akonyl, what time is best for you? If I start at 6PM EST. What time is that for you?

Another option could be this:

Secret Santa.
- Everyone gets a gift, from a different player.
- Everyone will give a gift. Therefore, no one player gave a gift to two different people.

- Everyone will PM me what gift they decide to give. I will give them 3-4 options, and they tell me which gift to send.

- There will be a hint on who gave the box (hint related to the player). You then have to guess who gave you the gift. One or two chances to guess. Then on the inside contains the item that the player him/herself decided to give. :P

PS: Can you guys discuss about my comments and questions on the changes.

What about tricking? Since tricking someone means that "the action wasn't done"
Healing/protecting is different. Since the action was done, but hindered.
If Nakamori uses pinch face on a disguised player, the disguiser is automatically arrested.
What if the pinched one get's out of jail? Then that player should get a new disguise imo (like in the rules) and shouldn't be able to get arrested for the old disguise, just the new one. And maybe pinching doesn't work anymore either then (can't pinch him a 2nd time after he got out of jail)
- If Ai is in the game, there will only be 2 BO that have no scent in the game.
Not sure if that's necessary atm. Since there are only 3 BO roles without a scent at the moment. But :V

IMO Ai is enough with that. There wouldn't be another role that fits that ability, besides maybe Akai or other FBI/CIA.

it's unlikely, but a BO with 3 non-smelly people in a game where there's only 6 BO would make Ai pretty useless :P

and even with the "X attacked Y" change, I don't think that it should be able to investigate discombobulated attacks, just ones that actually happen (but are protected). Making too many exceptions to random rules is bad, imo.

Well. I think 6:30-7:00PM would be the earliest/latest I can do for both you and Dus.

For Dus, 6:30PM will be 12:30AM and 7:00PM will be 1:00AM.
For you, it's the same. :|

@Kleene,
1. If discombobulated, then the action did not happen, investigation = false. I probably went to a different topic and forgot to finish my sentence XDD fixed.
2. If the disguiser gets out of jail, then they will get a new disguise. Also, I'm thinking people can't be arrested twice for the same crime. Similar to the amendment that states you can't be charged with the same crime twice. Well, I live in the US. Not sure if that's the same in other countries. o.o;
3. It was a suggestion in the Mafia Mafia Mafia thing, and I liked it. I guess it depends on the number of players in the game. But I might have missed some content, so it's currently not necessary.
4. True true. Good point.
5. That's what I was thinking. There aren't any roles that should be necessary for "follow".
6. I completely forgot! Thanks, I'll add that in.

About gifts, I guess I can just give out gifts... But just handing out gifts that hints people roles will make APTX easier and town alliance easier. I don't want it too easy.

Also, what about my comments on: Akai, Camel and Conan being able to be bombed?

if you're gonna set it to 6 30-7 for me, then don't bother setting it that far back because that wouldn't even give me time to do strategizing anyway, so just keep it at 5 or whatever you were thinking earlier. :P
