I believe what xpon is trying to say is that it would be a detriment to any of Shin101's allies, if they existed, if she formally dropped out vs. just giving up control of her actions to one of those allies and going MIA without formally dropping out.

If Shin101 gave up control of her actions to her allies they at least would be able to gather some more information or use her abilities to some advantage.  But if she formally drops out, her abilities are lost.
