Re: Another riddle
I think I'm on to something. Kors brothers name was like his right? Kors name is Guy and he is a guy so it is a descriptive name. Kor said before that his bruter was mad/crazy/something like that so perhaps his name has something to do with that?

You're going in a wrong direction. Dus can fill you in on what my brother did, but it doesn't have any connection.nomemory wrote: I think I'm on to something. Kors brothers name was like his right? Re: Another riddle
No, no. I didn't mean it like that. I meant that he might share name with some crazy person. I know that this is wrong, just want it to be clear what I meant.

Re: Another riddle
My initial thought was Yug coz of mirror twins but that sounds weird. Goy is similar to Guy too, but doesn't it mean non-Jew?

Re: Another riddle
You all think too much on the body and not on the spirit
btw, in some name meanings I've read that Guy is also derived from Goy. In other words, I'm a living contradiction
This is an inch closer to the answer, only an inch though.hopelessidiot wrote: My initial thought was Yug coz of mirror twins but that sounds weird. Goy is similar to Guy too, but doesn't it mean non-Jew?

Oh dear. Either your parents were trying to be funny or they didn't know. Be glad that Guy at least sounds normal. My friend's name sounds like Moscow in Chinese. XDKor wrote: btw, in some name meanings I've read that Guy is also derived from Goy. In other words, I'm a living contradiction![]()

lol, they probably didn't know, as they were thinking on something else (hopelessidiot wrote:Oh dear. Either your parents were trying to be funny or they didn't know. Another funny thing about my name is that I was born in Germany and they said that you can't tell if Guy is a boy's name or a girl's name (Perhaps Dus or Kleene can explain this better than me), so I was given also a middle name (which is a biblic name. Adds even more to the contradiction, I must say). The same deal also applied for my brother.

Re: Another riddle
In Germany, a name must clearly indicate the person's gender. Guy is not a common name in Germany, so you would have to add a middle name that makes it obvious that Kor is male.
Conversly, you have many men whose middle name is "Maria".

Re: Another riddle
Wow. Maria? I always thought it was a feminine name, even in Germany (like in Sound of Music, though they're Austrian iirc)
But I know what you mean about making it obvious that it's a male/female name. For Chinese names, you pick a different character to show if the person is a male or female. I don't have a program on this comp that can type Chinese or I would show you (though it's probably similar in Japanese?)
Back on topic. How about Adam? I just read that it's 'man' in Hebrew so it's similar to Guy. And it's considered Biblical so fits 'non-Jew' too?

Wrong, but at least you got out of the body.
btw, every post I have made in this thread (except this one) has a clue that should help you solve this.

Re: Another riddle
It is a feminine name, but it's sometimes used as a second name, because it's so biblical, I guess. And I live in Austria, and still don't know what Sound of Music is about. Like pretty much every other Austrian.
Adam does mean 'man', yes.

I'm going to help you here, though sadly, it will make it too obvious.

Ok, a clue:
My brother's name is very similar to mine.
Also, if you need, ask Abs. for some info.
