Oh god, that would totally ruin the whole thing. He's not Marth, he's a magician. A showman. The ringleader of the circus. And circus ringleaders really do always say "Ladies and Gentlemen!" Re: V29 Vermouth's catch phrase changed!
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.
The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Re: V29 Vermouth's catch phrase changed!
I know why they changed it. Because it is "mysterious" this way!
Honestly... next time they will rename Eisuke to Emanuel and the phrase "We can be both God and the Devil, since we are trying to raise the death against the stream of the time." to "We are gods and devils, 'cause we are trying to make zombies, who will beat up Time".
*sighs*

WTF?!
what kind of change was that?!
Vermouth's original phrase was perfect! catchy and feminine!
it doesn't need a change!
the change isn't catchy at all!
grrrrr . . .
what?! Kaitou's "Ladies and Gentlemen" too?!
*feels like starting a rebellion like what Lelouch from Code Geass did* XDD

I doubt they'll change Eisuke's name. But the phrase, maybe. OR THEY'LL BE LIKE ZELDA-RELATED, ORZ?Misztina wrote: I know why they changed it. Because it is "mysterious" this way!

They won't change Eisuke's name. The manga hasn't changed anyone's name since volume 19, unless they're related to someone who previously had their name changed.

Whilst I agree that this change was both unnecessary and unneeded, I don't mind it too much. I guess it's probably just because it's Case Closed, and by now if a change like this surprises you, you probably should have dropped the English version a long loooong time ago.

Re: V29 Vermouth's catch phrase changed!
I did drop the English version. I never picked it up, which is something I usually do with manga I really like. I'll go look online for the rest of the Japanese tankobon instead (I picked up v64 at a con this past weekend). I've been meaning to learn Japanese anyway.......Gamer1104 wrote: Whilst I agree that this change was both unnecessary and unneeded, I don't mind it too much. Seriously, they're not going bankrupt or something because of what they are doing?

4kids is still around after One Piece, and people in America actually care about One Piece so this is nothing by comparison.hakkaino7 wrote:

THIS.
That, and I've always been pretty indifferent to changes; every translator has a different style and interpretation of foreign dialogue. I still enjoy Viz's release despite the silly stuff that follows it. They do a pretty good job, in my opinion.
