Let's say you're Okiya... And I'm Kazuha, xpon is Kid and nomemory is Gin
Night 1: Shillok used stalk on Kain and wants to find out if she has a day or night ability, you'll get the response "Kain has day ability"
Night 2: Shillok used stalk on xpon and wants to find out one of his abilities, you'll get the response "xpon  can use steal" (though it could be something else too )
Night 3: Shillok used stalk on nomemory and wants to find out an item that she has, you'll get the response "nomemory has a headgear" Could be anything the role have ^^

actually, looking at the way it's worded in the GM post, it doesn't seem to be worded that well, yeah.

"observe day or night action" and "Night action: Choose one, get response: "Yes" or "No"" should be the same thing iirc, because that part of the ability was:
- Can stalk day/night actions. May PM the GM, asking for either day or night actions, they will get a "yes" or "no" response depending on if the character has a day/night ability or not

"observe 1 item" means that you get to see one item that the character is carrying, however you don't get to actually steal it, so it could be stolen later on.

as for "observe ability", I thought that it was decided that that was a little too powerful, or did we say it was fine?

It is almost like steal, just without the victim even knowing it was stolen from. And believe me, Akemis stealing ability kills people...
And you even have the choice for 2 other modes if you want (Though, who would ever use ability 1? Just ask for a ability and you will know if it is a day or night action. Again, together with finding items this ability will kill quickly. Irish has two abilities already. I know, not that useful, but this one is over the top. And Okiya as well - he can already choose between 2 different night abilities. Why give him such an ability in addition?

It is almost like steal, just without the victim even knowing it was stolen from. And believe me, Akemis stealing ability kills people...

The item isn't stolen, and it can still only be used once per player even though the stalker wants to know something else the other night

I thought we decided on "day/night ability", "description", or "item"? So like if Schillok is Okiya, Kain is Kazuha, xpon is Kid and nomemory is Gin.

Schillok stalks Kain for ability - and gets "day" as a result (or, if we're doing it the yes/no way, and Schillok asks if Kain has a Day ability, the answer is "yes".)
Schillok stalks xpon for item - and gets "gun" as a result.
Schillok stalks nomemory for description - and gets "adult male" as a result.

At least, I thought that's what we were deciding on? Or have we changed it since then?

Just don't blame anything on me if it doesn't work well because it's not what I suggested ^_^;

* Stalk:
- Roles with that action: Irish, Okiya Subaru
- Observe day or night action
- Observe one item
- Night action: Choose one, get response: "Yes" or "No"
- Can only be used once per player
- Stalking is a crime, meaning that you can be arrested for it

What understand the above to mean is:

They can choose one of the below to PM the GM during the night:

1) "Observe what Akonyl's day action is"
2) "Observe what Akonyl's night action is"

3) "Observe one of Akonyl's items"

4) "See if Akonyl can interrogate"
5) "See if Akonyl can investigate"
6) "See if Akonyl can arrest"
7) "See if Akonyl can heal"
8) "See if Akonyl can protect"
9) "See if Akonyl can detect"
10) "See if Akonyl can observe"
11) "See if Akonyl can slander"
12) "See if Akonyl can (fill in the night action, you get the idea)"

IMO, no one would ever use that last option, because they'd just use Option 2 instead.  It yields >9000% more information.

If we're saying that it can tell the stalker what their ability is, I do think that's too strong for both town and BO. I still like the other way better, just knowing if they have a day or night ability. Doesn't narrow it down as much, but it can be helpful information.

@Akonyl, here it is, exactly what I posted somewhere before, with a few added explanations:

Let's not get too hasty with the stalking (sorry Conia )

I'm fine with Irish doing the stalking.  However!  I'm also fine with him being limited to stalking each player 1x and "running out" of stalking targets.  (Think about it in real life, someone's going to get all creeped out that you're stalking them and probably call the police on you if you're doing it all the time.)  At any rate it's better that what he's currently got going for him.  :V

So!  Taking ideas from people (mostly Kleene):

Irish:
- Abduct/Spy - Night 1 (no change)
- After Night 1: Stalk (limit once per player)

Stalk (choose one):
- Observe ability (get to know whether person is adult female, male teenager, etc. - SAME AS "OBSERVE")
- Steal-like ability (but target does not get notified)
- Choose "Has Day action" or "Has Night action", get response: "Yes" or "No"

Stalking can be investigated, and is a crime.

Also.  I think a townie should get this ability as well.  Some creeper like Kogorou, possibly.




Bourbon:
- Detect (Night Action) OR Identify (Day Action): Can only use once per Day/Night #

example: If Bourbon Detects during Night 1, he cannot also Identify during Day 1.  However, if he didn't Detect during Night 1, he can Identify during Day 1 AND Detect during Night 2.


How does that sound?

I think Kain got confused when I said "Observe ability" - to mean "Observe what their ability is" ^_^;
