Well, he was with Vermouth who may be around 80, if she is Sharon Vineyard's mom too. I think Gin made it to home base with Shiho btw. I look forward to learning how Shiho dumped him. I'd like to think it involved dangerous lab chemicals.

Conan Drill is officially sanctioned, so it's probably to be believed. I would imagine Gosho had help writing it, but the content was his decision. Only Gosho's personal notes would have info like sources of inspiration for the characters and the Org and the maps and such because that info never made it into the manga.
