all FF games crash for you? You must have some bad karma around you (or perhaps dirty cds/ a bad console).
They do. I played 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 on the pc. Either the pc crashed or the game. I finished 6 after the third time it or the pc crashed. I also got pretty far in 8 but it crashed twice. I played 12 on the ps2 and when I was supposed to go to the final boss it was blackscreen and nothing happened. I finally finished it when we bought it instead of loaning it. I have also started to play 10 but after all those failed plays I don't have the energy to even try to finish it. It worked for Kain but I bet it won't for me.

emulator+roms, or PC ports? Because crashing isn't all that uncommon with roms, I'd suggest just keeping backups of your save files (though, if you're demoralized from playing them anymore this is sorta a moot point), though I dunno which of those actually had PC ports besides maybe 7 and 8.
As for 12 though, yeah that just sucks. The one time I've had a FF game fail on me was FF6 on the SNES, I saved and when I turned it back on all my files were gone. That demotivated me so much I almost didn't complete my essay due the next day D:

I had just made it up to the spaceship when it freezed. And no I never got to see the beautiful scene between Rinoa and Squall but I have had it told to me so many times (without my permission) that I know it by heart.
Perhaps I will play them some time. I am starting to consider considering playing eight again.

i also got stuck there before. i restarted the game. lol.
The thing is that it worked for my friend and my sister so I don't know why it didn't for me. But I do not have the save file anymore so now I would have to play it from the beginning anyway.
