Re: Slow-Motion Mafia Round 1 (Preparation Phase)

Post by Callid »

GM Note
Meme is now officially playing, and may or may not receive a preparation role.
Also, as I've been asked several times now:
Matsuda can not be affected by any action! As he isn't part of the material world, he can't be Investigated, Interrogated, Followed, Identified, Masked (or be used as a Mask), Lynched, Killed, Discombobulated, Arrested, House Searched or generally affected in any way. Basically, his whole premise is that he's immune to any action taken on him. Any action taken on him will be treated as being discombobulated. If someone tries to APTX him, it will follow the same rules as if he were outside Japan. if he's killed or lynched, nothing will happen. He, on the other hand, can't vote, PM any living player or post in the thread. Basically, that's all stated by the fact that he's dead already (and consequently, his Status is Dead), but I felt the need to clarify it.
If  ;), :D, ;D, ::), :P, :-X, :o or >:D are attached, that paragraph may not be 100% serious. Seriously.

one thing I'd suggest (if this isn't what you meant) is that all lynch votes for matsuda are voided. So, if everyone votes to lynch matsuda, instead of nobody being lynched, the next highest person on the lynch list will die. Otherwise, I foresee people finding out who matsuda is and just using him to stall votes when necessary.

But then votes can not be posted.

why not? I mean I'm pretty sure most people would realize he's matsuda when you try to lynch him and nothing happens, unless the story's vague enough that protecting/kazuha's ability/voice of reason/matsuda all rsult in the same narration in the other case as well.

True, the result becomes the same, people will know who he is if he gets the most votes.

If they are the majority, I'm fine with that. Also, they could just vote for someone not in Japan as well.

I suppose that's true, but it's a bit easier to find out matsuda is when he's not allowed to say a word at all.

Well, if the majority agrees that they don't wish to lynch anyone, they may do so. I have no problem with it, though it's clearly questionable if that's wise...

I really hope I get killed soon in Mafia 14, I already get way too many PMs from that one. But I doubt killing off injured people is a priority for the BO.  :-\

I think on of the things with slow-motion mafa is that the phasechanging time isn't supposed to matter. How it does work out is however a different matter.

Mafia: The only place where you can find Gin and Akai married together with 8 kids all disguised as Akai. Or something epic like that.

I think he means the stuff that happens there at phase change, but as Callid's said, he's not gonna do it at any set time.
Callid wrote: Phase changes will happen in a very special way:
After the deadline, the GM will NOT immediately announce the results, but will instead provide them at any time during the following 24 hours.

This is meant to serve several purposes: first to make exact planing impossible, second to balance the time zones a bit (one is the first to see the results, while the other has the last chance to provide them), third to slow down the posting speed around phase change and last but not least to avoid stress for the GM ;)
so no matter what timezone you're in, you might not get to be on at phase change anyway :P
