What can fill a room but takes up no space?
I'm just curious.... I want to know the answer...
I already asked many people and received many answers... but they are all wrong... because there's a scientific explanation...
PS: I may not be able to respond immediately...

Silence.

I might wake up early and go running. I also might wake up and win the lottery. The odds are about the same.

Flatulence.
TRY TO ARGUE AGAINST MY ANSWER.

Though, usually, whenever I hear a riddle and the clue is:

Silence is not... there's a scientific explanation... silence doesn't even exist... silence is only there because of the absence of sound... the molecules vibrate, thus producing sound... silence can fill the room but it also takes space... it's just that the molecules are not moving and vibrating... they are stable...
Flatulence is a mixture of gases... gas is a phase of matter.... which means it still occupies space....
answers that are not included: air, light, silence, sound, laughter, smell, shadow, warmth, cold, flatulence, (i'm going to look for more)
note: i'm not saying that this answers are not included because i know the real answer, what i'm saying is there's a scientific explanation

Interesting. The answer that I've always heard was silence. Well, I'd love to hear whatever answer you're looking for once you find it (or someone else does).kate_49 wrote: Silence is not... there's a scientific explanation... silence doesn't even exist... silence is only there because of the absence of sound... the molecules vibrate, thus producing sound... silence can fill the room but it also takes space... it's just that the molecules are not moving and vibrating... they are stable...

Dark matter!

Obvious why, though, since the inside is empty in theory... in theory...kate_49 wrote: someone even answered vacuum.... EPIC FAIL!

Re: What can fill a room but takes up no space?
Kate said this wasn't the answer she's looking for, but it was my knee-jerk reaction as well. The only problem is that "space" is not clearly defined here. If it is literal spatial volume, light would have to be the answer outside of dark matter. Since "dark matter" thoroughly demonstrates our lack of (rather than it does our depth of) understanding, it would be a suitable answer since A) it so far cannot be "observed" and B) cannot be "captured in a bottle" (though efforts to do this are diligently progressing, even though it's likely they'll never find it). As a result, from our current understanding, we can safely say that it can occupy the room even if we can't see it.Akonyl wrote: I'm gonna go with "light".
Also, I think...
