you should try your hand at cross hatching. it's not as hard as it looks and it could really make your drawings pop. judging by your pen drawings i'd bet you'd be good at it. adding alittle more pressure when you shade also adds some drama. and you've already got great drawings as a jumping off point.

Don't be afraid to go dark!

Yeah, I shall try to darken my cross-hatching and shadings too.. It's not the first time I'm told to go darker.

My scanner doesn't help me either: when I go dark, it looks awful; and when I lighten things, they look too light. I think I need to fix lightnings in my scanner too. lol
Also, I see you have a DA account! I'll stalk you there check it out!

I'm posting some new drawings again!

The first one is the finished version of one of my latest WIP's. It's for Ao-kun! <3
The second one is an Ai drawing in which I tried a different style from Aoyama's (especially for the eyes).
As for the last one, it's a WIP of the same drawing, but this time done by mouse, on SAI. So far, I've just done the lineart.

upper lip is not easy to see in comparison to the lower one. Too much light?

thanks! i know what your taking about, my scanner washes thing i do in traditional media too. but the portrait of Ai looks really good. and your line work is so neat! i'm so jealous

cute^^ I like it,it's good that you tried a different style from Aoyama's,it makes your drawings more personal and unique...and the eyes are very pretty...

concerning the drawing of you and your husband,well I like everything except maybe the colors(well you know I prefer the black and white drawingsXDDD)
