Ok Time for a disclaimer: The following are my views and have no bearing on  Detective Conan, Case Closed, DCTP or any other subers. I am also not part of any of the above.

That said my option:

First I feeling that subers like DCTP will alway do a better job on subbing then any commercial outfit. These Sub groups because they are not in it for the money, must in my option do a better job. They do not need to change it to fit their 'customers' and thus again in my option create a great work of act that must be seen to be believed.They deserve all the Kudo, Cookies, and thanks they get and even then they should get more.

Second Case Closed from what I have seen again seems to suffer from tampering that a lots ( Note not all ) of dubbed anime suffer from. I still wonder why so many changes happen? Do they think we need to be drowned in constant speech? If so then again in my option they are wrong. The closer to the original the better. Even though I am very limited in Japanese, I greatly enjoy their musical language and so would rather read then hear English in most cases. Again in my option, the closer to the original the better.

Third, Do you have something against the service that DCTP and the other subers do. I noticed you did not include them in your poll. And I will now cast a vote for the above for already stated reasons. To me and again in my option, One of the best thing that could happen is all of Detective Conan to enter Public domain. That would make it possible for more people to enjoy the fine and great work that DCTP does. Again DCTP and other subers keep it up. The world is a little smaller because of you

And watching the subbed version of Full Metal Panic! is one big reminder of why I watch dubs.
2. DCTP is more like the exception to the rule when it comes to fansubs, unfortunately.
Actually I thought of a 3rd. As I've said many times before, ignoring the recent movies, Case Closed is hit or miss and pretty bad by Funi standards.

ya most fan sub groups do not come close to dctp really. I will admit there are many examples of fansubs being better the commercial product.  however those are exceptions.  I only watch Full Metal Panic dubbed just because the voices are so much better in it. until season 4 really the dub is fairly hit or miss however season 4 and more specifically 5 (except for 2 cases where funi messed up is a great dub) and then the movies are also very well done. I still love the dub though.

Anyways, still saving my money up for Season 4 Viridian Collection. Once I buy that, I will (FINALLY) have all 5 season box sets released by FUNimation. Then, I'll focus on the movies (I only have movie 5).
