As long as that protection promise doesn't turn her into a damsel in distress, I also wouldn't mind seeing it. Perhaps a scene where Conan saves Ai only to be saved exactly 15 minutes and 33 seconds later by Ai in epic fashion.
Even if they do not marry, does seem like they are going to be near each other for life now. Their personalities just attract each other.
