well she kind of gave it away in a PM where she said that "i will check if you are disguised as ______" but since i knew she was police and only James could do that action, i figured she already knew i couldn't be disguised either because she knew kid or was kid..

Wrong. You can always check if someone is disguised. That disguise is always "active". So every investigator can investigate it at every night. It's not something just james can do.

The investigation "Kleene disguising as Satô" could be done every night and would yield a positive result. Since he/she would still be disguised during each night. So it is no one-time action that only James can investigate.
So... did he/she tell you directly? Or was it just this... misunderstanding that made you think so?
