Hellsing (OVA + TV +Manga)

Post by ranger »

Where's Aluecard?..

I'm surprised there hasn't been a Hellsing thread, maybe I just suck at searching stuff..

so, I started watching the show this summer, beginning with the OVA series - it freaking rocks!  People who are afraid of gore should not watch this however - this show is not for the feeble with its Kill Bill blood spraying in almost all the scenes.

The action and storyline is magnificent, comparable to Death Note imo and the fight scenes aren't your generic "I'm getting angry..and I become stronger to beat you!" like in so many action/fighting animes.

I'm currently waiting for the new OVA to come out - and please, put spoilers in spoiler tags, like many other people I haven't watched the other Hellsing tv series or read the manga.

However I heartily recommend this series!  For not big anime fans like myself, I'd compare it to..Hell Boy in how there is a secret organization that keeps supernatural things - like vampires - under wraps from the general public.

Hellsing Manga : Already ended with surprisingly plot twist. Not to mention the whole story full of Gore, Blood, and Epicness...

What ? You cannot not to say that after seeing Alucard summon his hundred years worth of undead soldier..

Hellsing TV Series : Slightly different story from the original Manga, with also original enemy.. Not too shabby, but still worth to watch.. And to avoid certain confusion, i recommend you watching this version first before starting with the Manga / Ultimate

And i did love  the Shine ending song..

But all I want is for you to SHINE
Shine down on me
Shine on this life that's burning out

Hellsing OVA (Ultimate) : If the term "awesome" got another words, then this Hellsing Ultimate worth every words of it..

It Stick true to the manga storyline, and with lot of improvement on the artwork and char design.. Very minimal, if i must say, none censorship at all (at least the whole version i watched)

Though i did laughed when Anderson seiyuu read his engrish prayer  ;D
