She means that certain roles (Vermouth, Kid, Yumi, Hakuba, etc) will get their roles a day earlier than everyone else because they need to do some preparation before the game starts. Those people will get their roles Friday. If you accidentally tell nomemory you got a PM with your role on Friday, she'll know you are one of the prep phase roles and can maybe figure out who you are.

I put this in the Role Discussion thread earlier, but it occured to me that it probably needs to be here too, since it concerns this round:

Earlier it was suggested that we make arresting both a day and night action, but remove the ability to arrest people for "abetting a murder" (right now, it's legal to arrest nomemory (Irish) for "helping Paix672 (Pisco) kill pofa"). My concern was that this would make arresting much more difficult, as finding out which BO member killed which victim is very hard to do.

Would anyone have a conniption fit if we did this for Round 8? You could arrest both day and night, but not for "abetting a murder"--you'd have to arrest the designated killer. Of course, this wouldn't affect arresting for other actions, like disguising or intimidating.

Also, I propose that successful arrest > lynch, but successful arrest < APTX. So, if the town is about to lynch conia (Satou), but conia decides to arrest Holmes (Gin) for killing nomemory on Night 1 (Holmes did this), Gin will be arrested and no one will be lynched (if the arrest is unsuccessful, conia will still be lynched). However, if conia tries to arrest Gin during the day but the BO poisons him, conia will be poisoned and the arrest will fail. So the BO still has a shot at stopping arrests.

Is this all right with everyone? I'd like to get rid of the abetting rule for this round. 

Edit: I also want to ask those who have GM'd: are there any restrictions on who can be lovers? I think I heard once that Sonoko/DB/someone with an alliance couldn't be a lover, but that doesn't seem right since BO members, who are in an alliance, can be lovers. The rules don't say anything about it, so I'm inclined to think there shouldn't be restrictions. (I've never been a lover, though, so I need to know in case there's a Yumi. ^^ I don't want confusion later because there were lovers that were against the unwritten rules.)

Well, there were two suggestions. One was that we keep it how it's always been and have a false arrest mean an expulsion from the police/identity revealed. The other was that false arrests for the crime of murder only result in a suspension--the police officer who made the false arrest can't use abilities during the next phase. False arrests for any other crime but murder would still result in an expulsion.

I think it should still be an expulsion. Since the police are getting a lot of info to make an informed decision, they shouldn't be able to just guess without a heavy penalty.  But I'm open to discussion.

Also, as I said before, if a police officer about to be lynched makes a false arrest, he'll still be lynched.

If this happened, the only way I think it would work well is if
a) it reveals the officer's name (as opposed to just "he's a policeman" like you originally suggested)
b) aptx is allowed to be used during the night phase as well as day phase.

But really, I think the police shouldn't have their identity revealed at all if they get to continue attempting to arrest at a later time.

I agree. Giving the town somebody they could trust without question who can also still make arrests (and therefore would be protected) is too unfair to the BO, even with the APTX.

Basically, yeah. But even if your arrest is successful, your identity won't be revealed (this is how it's been done in the past). So if xpon (Megure) arrests Akonyl (anokata) and it's successful, all anyone will know is that Akonyl, anokata, was arrested. They won't know who did it. So if you're right, you could arrest more people than just 1 BO.

But yes, if you're wrong, that's the only shot you get.
