GinxAkai also have:
1. Some hints. The "koibito" thing which can mean lover or enemy. I think that whole GinxAkai started because of that. Yeah, it's just a pun with words. But so is the Martini joke. But both could be interpreted to have a hidden meaning too.
2. Well, it's yaoi as long as Gin doesn't turn out to be female ;p
1. I didn't consider the "koibito" thing as a hint because, as you said, it was just a pun. But if it's the only thing in favor of AkaixGin, people will keep referring to it as a real hint. As for the Martini joke, I only considered it a hint after seeing how Vermouth interacts with Gin. I'm not saying I believe there's actually something between them, though.. but it's a possibility.
2. Or Akai.. =P

Well, for me "must not diss it" is like "have to accept it". But that's my impression on the word "to accept". So guess we talk about the same :p
I see, but to me, it's possible not to accept something yet not to diss it. For example, there are many things that I don't/can't accept in society, generally (because my own logic doesn't accept them), but I don't go insulting people or dissing their opinions if they accept/like them. Also, I believe that, just like you are free to like/accept something, I'm free not to like/accept it. Fair enough?

I get it. I didn't want to sound rude or accuse you for calling people ridiculous. I even said that you didn't intend to do that, but that it "sounded like that". That's why I wanted to confirm it with asking you whether you really find it "not serious"/"ridiculous"
Sorry for the misunderstandings
I'm sorry, too, if my posts sometimes give the wrong impression about what I really intend to say, but that's mostly because people only see the general meaning and don't pay attention to the words I took the time to choose before posting. I've been accused many times of insulting a cause, while usually, after rereading my post, you'd find no proof that I did insult it, just proofs that I didn't agree with it. And so far: not agreeing ≠insulting.

Well, like said above, GinxAkai do have some "hints". Whether you count it as a hint or if you label it as a joke, is up to oneself.
A "ridiculous" pair would be a pair that never met each other and doesn't know the existence of each other. For example RanxKorn. But even then, people could be serious about that pairing.
Imo there is nothing wrong with hoping for you favorite pairing, even it it's ridiculous or a yaoi/yuri pairing, even in a non-yaoi/yuri anime.
I see what you mean, but to me, a ridiculous pairing is a pairing which has absolutely no past hints AND no future chances of happening. For instance, AiCon has no chance of happening, but since it has many hints, I can't label it as ridiculous (same goes for GinxSherry).

GinxAkai also have hints. And I also think that some non-canon pairings have a better chance than other non-canon pairings.
I don't understand the bolded part, but I guess you meant that "some non-canon pairings have a better chance than other
canon pairings"? If that's the case, I don't agree with the "have a better chance" part, I'd say "have more supporters", because Aoyama is the one who decides which pairing has a better chance by making it canon, whether the fans agree or not.

But the vote wasn't about "Which pairing is more likely to happen" but "Which one do you like best/more".
At first it was about "Which pairing is more likely to happen?" because it only had 2 plausible options: GinxSherry and GinxVermouth. After, it featured other options, so it became a "Which one do you like more?" poll.
However, right now the whole topic is very confusing because it seems like it's about both sides:
So it's, once again, a poll whose objective isn't clear enough.
Just like the "Gin vs. Ran: Who is smarter?" thread where the title, obviously, asks who for "the smartest", while the first post asks for "the winner at discovering Shinichi's identity". Confusing polls are confusing, and they generate inutile discussions, later categorized as rude debates or wars. That's how it actaully works.

That's why I said "strictly". If you don't take it strictly, then it also has a lot of pairings. And it also has a lot of non-canon pairings made up by fans. So AkaixGin is a possible non-canon pairing too.
Until now I used to think that even the non-canon pairings have to have real hints before existing.. But it's a free world, people can like something even if it makes no sense
to me. My bad, sorry.

You just fantasize without intending to do so. You also like something first and when someone asks you why or you ask yourself why, then you look for some reasons. But liking something is not something "logical" but an emotion, so you also don't have to understand it.
I understand, it's hard to get because, to me, emotions are logical; I can't like/dislike something without a reason. But I understand what you mean.

Agree, Girl19 is good at discussions

That's also why it's fun to discuss with her :p
I'm glad you think so. I also enjoy reading various opinions and discussing them, as long as the discussion is beneficial.
