Here's a comparison between Akai Shuuichi and Okiya Subaru... do any of you guys notice any similarities??

P.S. sorry I couldn't get a brighter picture of Akai. That picture right there is right before he was shot by Kir that's why it's dark.

i don't believe that akai is okiya. it doesn't make much sense.
but akai IS out there.
How does Okiya know that? Unless something was glossed over in the translation (or I'm blind), neither girl says anything like that.
If he's been gathering information about Sonoko, he's not a total bystander. Of course, he could be Shuuichi, because Shuuichi has probably heard (or read) Jodie's reports about the girls.

If he really sneaks up on Kogoro, why does he stay on Kudo's house, or in an apartment farther to the office before that? (and he's not even seen around the office) Note that Gin doesn't know that Sherry lives in Agasa's so he wouldn't send any of his men there. Don't even think he's Vermouth's agent, because she doesn't even plan to tell the truth to others.

Rena did say Bourbon is very clever, he might hav deduced somethin near that apartment.
And who's says he didn't deduce somethin about Shinichi whilst staying in his home and decided to do a background check on ppl around him?
Or there's always a chance he's on another mission near that apartment and Gin decided to give him another when he conviently ended up living in kudo's home.

If he deduced something about Shinichi then he should've figured his identity by now, and the others too. Note that "Kinichi" (said by Ran) is not a nice cover-up for his name because if Okiya was into it, he'd search the Kinichi person in Ran's relatives and schoolmates and eventually end up into Shinichi (Note: Who wouldn't recognize Kudo Shinichi, the Heisei Holmes? Ran even said that the Shinichi guy doesn't have deduction talent... like who'd fall for that?). He should be informed by the BO (if he is really BO) about the search investigations (usually led by Sherry) previously conducted, and he will see the differences in the house he is currently staying in, especially that all were put away, so who would put away all those things? Then he would most likely deduce that Kudo is alive (a shock for BO, but not for Akai )
If he was BO, he'd search next into Shinichi's friends' albums and other stuff where he can get information like Friendster or Myspace accounts (if there were something like those in the DC world) and he might end up in a young Ran and Shinichi picture (possibly from a elementary yearbook) and he will be shocked to see the young Shinichi who resembles Conan. If he was given information about the shrunken rat sample during the APTX4869 tests, and knowing Conan's unbelievable deduction talents, he can deduce that Shinichi is Conan.
If he manages to go inside Agasa's house (as "guest", maybe), then he sees Haibara and Sherry is revealed.
The next day, Conan and company die.
That is, if Okiya is BO and he is really into the Sherry search. However, if he is Akai, he wouldn't bother searching that much... But Conan would still hide all his stuff because he doesn't intend to expose his identity, even to the FBI who are targeted by BO for other reasons. Informing them about the truth wouldn't make a change, but still, it's best to be cautious

How about that Okiya Subaru is not Bourbon, and that Bourbon guy is someone else who has not yet appeared?
I have difficulty to think that Conan will allow a BO in his house when Hakasei and Haibara are just next door.

Maybe the story of Okiya/Bourbon going to be identical to Mega Man 7. Mega Man 7 is the debut of mystery robot named Bass, Bass mentioned to Mega Man that he was battling Dr Wily as well. Later, it revealed that Bass was apparently Dr Wily's creation.
Just like Conan trusts Okiya is a good guy, but later when Conan sees that Kudo residence, Agasa residence or Mouri Detective Agency is kaput and Ran or Ai-chan is kidnapped or serious injured by Okiya. And then Gin reveals to Conan that Okiya's true identify is the spy sends by Black Organisation, in order to investigate that did Kudo Shinichi is still alive and where is Sherry. Gin taunts Conan that he knew that Conan/Shinichi is stupid enough to trust Okiya when Okiya just say a little thing about Holmes and treat Okiya as Holmes' fan and let him stay in Kudo residence.

Conan can't be that naive after the "Holmes Otaku Murder" (vol12.7-13.1/ep57-58) or after learning about the Holmes related reference code for his poison (4869) and password for the poison's research data.
