it might explain why Haibara would be shocked- because it's Agasa's relative.
The "Haibara would be shocked" thing came from an unofficial american book called the Case Closed Casebook, wich didn't mention any sources. I think we still haven't found any proof that Gosho ever said Haibara would be shocked. ^^'

Besides, Wouldn't make sense for vermouth to be fully japanese(if she's agasa's sister) when she is clearly at least half American

Speaking of Vermouth I have been watching older cases and I remember when Haibara joked to Conan that she is 84 years old(the soccer stadium bombing case).

Remember we were told by Gosho that he often "speaks through" Haibara(and Kogoro also). We have seen numerous Sherry's Soliloquies have some element of foreshadowing. What if the 84 years old comment ends up being the real age of Vermouth.

I honestly feel like that's an underestimate, I got this feeling in my gut that she is far more older and that she and the boss have had the same goal since far way back...

Yeah I think that is over the top. I don't think she has been around THAT LONG.fools gold to continue trying to guess. As for the Boss I am starting to think its Like Chekhov said I believe Gosho may have made it impossible to know the exact person before the actual Boss arc. We may have the name like Ootaru Rengaruu(did I spell that right) or something else but I don't think we can go much further

Although I do find it strange Haibara does not really talk much about her father......... >:D

Well that's obvious, that's why people have been guessing from agasa to mitsuhiko. And I think that gosho did a great job in hiding that from us so that the hype can build up and then explode! But I don't think the boss is completely unknown to us(basing this from following his interviews and such), that's why analyzing certain elements that seem suspicious isn't a bad idea, for starters, rather than just giving up.

Btw, did that name come from the guest book in the mermaid case?

How come? She didn't really know him, it's probably been something like 10 or 15 years since she last saw him. I would find it strange if she went around talking about him all the time.

It's Ooguro/Daikoku Rentarou.

That isn't what I mean. I mean how she referenced mainly her mother and sister throughout past episodes. Remember at one point we even had a series of episodes that discussed the tapes her mom left for her.

i was thinking that the m,ystery girl is anokata and the real chris vineyard since she shrunked sharon took her place and 'killed sharon' to fully play as chris and she is probably older than we though like 50+ (if sharon is as old and she were disppite she don't age) to be akai/sera mother and its why sharon don't want the bo to know and she's the boss favorite

so as chris name appeared before it fill the booss have appear somehow in the past gosho said and if the ai is shocked is true i guess this will shock her a bit here

this also might explain why she's here hiding with sera and know conan. also why adding that character that so far brought nothing to the serie much than few questions

I read an article about it. It says the boss is Renya Karasuma. Which karasu from karasuma mens crow. He died at 99. When he died his treasure (pandora gem) was in auction. To prevent someone to get the pandora gem, he(Renya in disguise) and vermouth killed all of the auction with somekind of drug and took pandora gem with them. Its a gem which when a comet(forgot the name) pass the earth, the gem will "cry" and whose drinks its water will become imortal. And the article said the Renya karasuma new form or disguise is JAMES BLACK. I still see some flaw of the theory that renya karasuka faked his death. And if the pandora gem is their goal, whats the connection of the gem with aptx 4869 and saguru itakura's software. Anyone ?

@wizards: James Black can't be Anokata because he's got an alibi: in Ep 425 he's with Jodie and Conan while Gin rings up Anokata to get permission to kill Kogoro.

And, despite Karasuma's back story being suspicious, there's nothing to link him to the BO. The 2 men who brought marijuana to the mansion were surely some smart thieves that used that to steal all of the valuable stuff.

By the way, if you've made a mistake in one post, you should use the edit option to rewrite it instead of double-posting.

The problem with this argument is that it's not shown how Gin got the permission from the boss. After Kir was hurt, James Black was away from Jodie and Conan long enough that he could have sent a mail without them noticing. And even if they did, he could have easily played it off that it was to set Kir up in the hospital.

@b8ajenai: Hum. But nevertheless, it feels like a while has passed since Kir's accident before Gin contacts Anokata. During that while, James is driving the car with Jodie and Conan on it. And, besides... James' behavior doesn't seem like what we should expect of Anokata. It's said by Vermouth:

"The boss is always careful to the extreme. He’s the type to ruin the plan by overthinking it." ("He" stands for a gender unspecific pronoun with no English equivalent.)

James doesn't strike as the type who does that and he and the FBI have committed several flaws, especially during the assault on the hospital. And why would he bother to insert a spy into his own org, anyway? His behavior is too contradictory.

I agree with Chek that Anokata hasn't yet appeared in person in the story, personally.
