Gee, what did you expect from a guy of a team in which two people look like this?

This is what kinda annoys me in the series - Almost all of the villains and bad guys are just not subtle and you can just tell they are villains by their looks. The villains who actually look decent (look like a normal/good guy) are those who end up either repenting or joining the good side or are good guys in disguise. There are some exceptions of course.
Then again, this trope is a more or less a generic Shonen trope, so I shouldn't really criticize this series alone for it.

what part of it? The only thing that was surprising was them goin after Lucy instead of Wendy, but that doesn't really change a whole lot in the grand scheme of things.

To me it seemed somewhat messy, the current storyline. But that might just be me :x it's getting less and less interesting also, even though this is supposed to be a new arc and whatnot...

The part of Elfman winning. With the way that whathisname was established (not to mention, by Erza), I was pretty sure this fight would be one-sided and that Elfman would lose.

EDIT: also it seems like the anime is going into a filler arc.

It's a tournament, we've seen this thing too many times already in Shonen manga.

ah, gotcha. I sorta figured he was gonna win though, as barring deus ex machina the only real possibilities for FT if they lost the match seemed like "worm their way out of the bet" or "go through with the bet", neither of which seemed like things the author would really wanna do.

I am a bit concerned about the last words of the new chapter.
If it halfway fulfills my expectations, there is going to be a real mindhype going on. On the other hand, FT is far too soft for this so I'm pretty sure I am going to be disapointed.
(If you don't know what I am talking about, you defenitely haven't read Berserk)

eclipses as part of magic rituals have been around far longer than berserk, so I would say there's pretty much no chance of a berserk-esque eclipse going on, especially considering how huge a change of tone it would be.
