I also think that way about "The Soup"... It is really cool.kkslider5552000 wrote: ok The Soup isn't the most interesting western tv show but it's the best one! Besides, everyone just voted for their favorite one anyway.

Re: Most interesting Western TV Series
I'm not gonna vote at all, because I've seen like 1 episode of "The Mentalist" and a few episodes of "House MD" and that's about it. My TV is connected to the Wii and the PS2, and that's all it has been connected to in about 5 years. So I've pretty much never heard of most of these shows.
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.
The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

Re: Most interesting Western TV Series
You left out quite a few:
Battlestar Galactica (SciFi) (canceled after season 4)
Fringe (FOX) (season 2 starts this September)
NCIS (CBS) (season 7 starts this September)
The Big Bang Theory (CBS) (season 3 starts this September)
Jericho (CBS) (canceled after season 4)
Those are produced by Pay-TV-Networks:
The Kill Point (Spike TV)
The Wire (HBO)
Generation Kill (HBO)
In Treatment (HBO)
Edit: The season starting September marks the start of FlashForward, V (both ABC) and NCIS:LA (CBS; some spin off of NCIS).

i voted or other, cause i think that this list is quite incomplete for me....well,i like Monk and House but if i have to choose one serie,it would be Law & Order: Special Victims Unit but i don't know if people here knows this serie,(it's on US TV since 1999...)
i like also the series Scrubs , ER(emergency room) and Friends, but they aren't in that list

It's really hard to put an all-inclusive list... And most of the series included (as one already impliedly commented are the new ones)...AICHAN wrote: i voted or other, cause i think that this list is quite incomplete for me....

Just finished watching LOST Season 2 yesterday... Now I understand why you want to kill me... You said in the "I'm currently watching" thread I can talk to you about Lost but it belongs to the Other Anime and Manga section so I decided to revive this old poll of mine to ask you about the series... (Again - sorry for its exclusion)ranger wrote: dude im gonna kill you. You left out one of America's most popular tv series...
LOST
Just wanna ask some questions... (Note: I love spoilers...)
- Is the story pure science? or a mixture of science and supernatural events?
- Who's "HE" (the boss)? Was he shown already in Season2?

Re: Most interesting Western TV Series
Why make a voting list for something so vast????
First off... You put the show Dead Like Me which only had two seasons and a movie.
Secondly, you left out many popular shows... The two that come to mind are NCIS and LOST. [This is linked to the first one since you left those out and put in a dead show... one that has been dead for years...]
Third, these are only Dramas and live action shows. Not to mention all the cartoons the West puts out [Given there hasn't been a good one since 2002 imo]
Fourth, don't say "Western" if you know nothing of European programming. Especially when BBC shows are steadily growing in popularity in America.
Fifth, what about all the premium shows... Showtime has plenty, as well as HBO [Curb Your Enthusiasm, Dexter, and Entourage come to mind] This is aside from the fact that Dead Like Me was originally a Showtime show...
Sixth... Based off of what you said, it seems to me that these are only shows that YOU HAVE watched. This means that your list is completely arbitrary based on what you have seen/can remember. That is not basis for a poll. You have to include as many possibilities as possible whether you have seen them or not.
Personally I think it would have been better to forgo the voting list and just do a comprehensive, and changeable list based on people's responses. Again with something so vast it is impossible to make a comprehensive list. Even if you do post 2005... New shows come out every year, and if you don't mention a time frame it can be assumed to date back as far as the person can remember.
My complaints aside... I really think this is dependent on what one finds interesting... So here is my personal breakdown [Staying as Contemporary as possible]
Random fun information: Mythbusters
Crime Drama: Dexter
Mystery: I would have said Monk, but it has gotten stale over the years... I'm happy its finally ending. As of right now I like NCIS. Though I must also cite others like The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, and Midsomer Murders
General Drama: I liked Robin Hood until they did something I didn't like very much [which I won't say due to spoilers] Honestly I don't watch enough of this anymore, so I won't say right now.
Cartoon: If I go back to the 90s there would be many, and there are none from the current. I'd have to say the two I have really enjoyed are Samurai Jack, and more recently Avatar: the Last Airbender
Sci-fi: Dr Who
Another show I personally like: Top Gear
Not getting into Game Shows or Reality TV, as I loathe both those genres of late.
In the end it really depends... I don't think there is any ONE most interesting show... There are too many different types...
PS: one last final gripe... CSI IS A HORRIBLE SHOW AND SERIES ><

He? Oh, do you mean the leader of the "Others"? He heh..I'm totally against spoilers in everything , including DC and LOST. I think it'd be best for you to just find out by keep watching

The story of science vs supernatural faith? Well, I'm sure you remember Locke's memorable words.."You're a man of science Jack." "Then what are you?" "Me?..Well, I'm a man of faith."
Science vs Faith is a HUGE motif in the series, so there will be science and strange super natural deus ex machina stuff happening. Whether it can be explained my science is debatable...A lot of fans have different theories on the numerous mysteries in the show.
If you wanna ask me anything more, just feel free to PM me..I love talking about LOST *gets all giddy
sooo many theories you can talk about!!!
Btw, so far, who is your favorite character? John Locke has to be my numero uno.

Sorry, I screwed up that time... I shouldn't have revived this thread if not for the exclusion of Lost which I'm truly sorry... Btw, Dexter seems to be pretty interesting too...kyuuketsuki wrote: Why make a voting list for something so vast????
Anyways, i don't mind if someone would close this poll...
Yeah, I kinda remember this one...ranger wrote: The story of science vs supernatural faith? Well, I'm sure you remember Locke's memorable words.."You're a man of science Jack." "Then what are you?" "Me?..Well, I'm a man of faith."
Is there an existing Lost thread here in DCTP? House MD has one... If there isn't why don't you create some kind of Lost review thread and add some of your theories... I'll try to comment something intellectual.. Maybe other Lost fans want that too...If you wanna ask me anything more, just feel free to PM me..I love talking about LOST *gets all giddy

Used to like his char but after the leadership conflict with Jack I began to dislike him... I can relate most to Sawyer cause I kinda like myself being hated..Btw, so far, who is your favorite character? John Locke has to be my numero uno.
