11597 post? Wow. Glad to see all those supporters of our case ;D Though I was the only one missing AiCon after 345 :(. It's the most aspect I'm missing in the current DC... their interactions was the cutest thing ever.

lol.. Revive is still my favorite opening.. because it's the last one to give us some AiCon :(

Well, it seems that the guys doing the opening have some aiCons among them, but teasing us with "ghosts of the past" is not fair :D

Edit: Just searched a bit and the last opening with AiCon in it is actually #29:

3 seconds is not enough :(

The most thing I hate about the current Haibara statue that she became the fourth DP member. I miss the time when she was mysterious sarcastic figure.. I can deal with "No AiCon anymore".. But at least I want some Haibara goodness.

Agreed, many characters lost their depth over time, but Haibara suffered the most from it and we really lost potential there :/

I completly agree with you...I can understand that enjoying a happy life is part of Ai's character development, but I don't want her to be neglected from the main plot,or lose her awesome personality...Which is why I'm expecting a lot about a confrontation between
Spoiler: little spoiler of file 897
Akai and Ai.We know for sure he's Okiya and he's supposed to protect Ai,but she still don't know he's the reason why Akemi died,so maybe we'll see some drama or something that will make Ai shine, and be more than just a DB.also Gosho promised a Sera/Ai confrontation,so let's hope Ai won't be wasted in the next files. And of course she still have to find a cure to the APTX so maybe Gosho should focus more about that.

The problem is.. at this point, Haibara shines = Story ends. The information that Haibara hide like the data she stole, Vermouth's secret, Her relationship with Gin, etc.. is enough to push the series to its final arc. I guess this was the main reason that made Gosho canceles AiCon and transformed Ai into side character. Her relationship with Conan was pushing the series into early climaxes that he should avoid...

I'm pretty sure that she will shine again in the final arcs - if we've ever get it lol -... And that we will get some good AiCon moments too :p

I guess you're right,if Gosho doesn't want to end DC yet,he can't reveal all of Ai's secret now...But that doesn't mean she has to be the DB babysitter all the time...
As for Aicon moments,I don't have high hopes about that, except Ai teasing Conan in the future files...but touching moments like during volume 28(bus hijack) won't happen I think.

I can see Haibara dying after she tells Conan that she loves him... I wish they don't go that way though :(

I don't see haibara dying considering she's a very popular character...and also I'm not even sure she still loves Conan.

She is the closest main character to die considering her dark past.. If there's one MC to die and the final arc it will be Haibara.

About her feelings for Conan, the impression I got that she still loves him, but decided to hide her feeling because of her respect to Ran after she saved her. Remember that her interactions with him stopped after that event immediately.

There's still some hints that she loves him here and there :p last I remember was ep 425.. and of course OVA 12 (I know it's not canon though :()

btw sorry for my bad English, it's my first time writing in an English forums.

That's precisely because of Ai's sad past that I don't see her dying in the end, that would be unfair and not in Gosho's definition of a happy ending...that would mean all the character development she had was for nothing.
Also in the manga there aren't recent proof that Ai loved him,I would say she enjoy being with him but she kinda gave up on him because she gets close to Ran.She likes him,but doesn't love him, that's what I think.

Now wouldn't that be absolute garbage ? BTW I choose to believe Ai is shown more of a side character now cause Princess Ran should not be hogged of her spotlight by so many interesting girls >:D and more so not a potential Shinichi's lover, MORE so not Ai, who left her in the dust as quickly as 5-10 episodes since her appearance ! I won't be surprised if they're trying their best to reduce Sera-san's (possibly Ayumi too ? :-\ ) appearance time too now for Princess' sake, it's unfortunate ::)

I think she probably has the most No. of fans attached to her, that's why I think it would be a frighteningly bad decision. I doubt they're stupid enough to pull that off.

If what Haibara has isn't love then that makes Princess' love even more unconvincing.

Back in the good old days of pre 345 I would have agreed with that.
Originally a main part of Haibara's character was her wish to redeem herself to the ones she wronged due to her past as BO-Scientist, especially Conan, which also intertwined nicely with her feelings for Conan (The two aspects propably amplified each other). Through the whole Death requals redemption, which Haibara even tried to invoke (Bus bomb), a heroic sacrifice was a plausible end to Haibara's story arc, contingent with her character traits.

Right now, that is much more unlikely, as both aspects of Haibara's story development have been left unresolved and unmentioned for too long to actually matter in the conclusion of Haibara's arc. Unless Gosho of course wants to bring old Haibara back, when he doesn't have to maintain status quo anymore (This I would very welcome, same with conan, who too has gone stale... ).

I always thought about the current Haibara as a decelerating tool for the story, and always believed that when we reach the final arcs of the story, the old Haibara who knows everything will shine again.
And with that in mind, you can see that one of the logical endings for her arc story is the "Death Equals Redemption" trope Atraos mentioned, Haibara is a criminal who created a poison used to kill too many people, if she returned to her original name she will be judged and her destiny won't be so much different than the other BO members. So there's two logical endings to her story, A redemption with a heroic death which is a bit of a cliche, or that she will live the rest of her life under Haibara name and live the childhood she never had. (I prefer the later, obviously :p)

And yeah, I miss the pre-345 DC universe when everything was a mystery :p. Never loved the "Who is Bourbon" arc which was a weak version of the legendary vermouth arc and took a time more that it deserves. At least it gave us Serah and the mysterious child which make me excited for the future arcs!

Sorry if I got a bit off-topic XD

Please refrain from character bashing. Such attitude is unwarranted.
