And this is, of course, assuming this character, Rum or not, even has a prosthetic eye—it could just be a contact lens for the purposes of deception. If this is Rum, then body doubles can wear the same yellow contact lens that he does—that is, if his right eye is really undamaged.

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
I kinda never considered the ''yellow eye'' to be the artificial one! what seems like yellow in the promo could actually be green but with a lighting that makes it look like yellow! prosthetic or not, I think the fake one is the blue one(makes also sense for it to have the colour of animated glass(blue:ish), if it is artificial)!DCUniverseAficionado wrote:Yes.MeiTanteixX wrote:so, basically, because it is necessary to blink for the appearance of a person with an artificial eye, "RUM"(or whoever it is) should be able to blink...DCUniverseAficionado wrote:'MeiTanteixX wrote:Btw, can a person with a prosthetic eye even close that eye? Re: What's the identity of Rum?
(Wish I could read all this 183 replies ;u; I'm just going to leave here my opinion and then read it all ahah)
I saw the theory of RUM being 3 people and I can't really agree with that theory. Why would 3 people be the boss' right hand? I also believe that if they were three Gosho (or not tbh, he's a troll) would write "R.U.M" but instead he wrote "RUM". The caps lock give me a feel of how important that message is.
There's already some facts about Rum and theories about some characters... The only one that I am thinking it might be Rum is Hyoue Kuroda - but maybe Gosho introduced him to get us hyped over it and in the end he ain't gonna be no RUM or whatever. One of the reasons that I think he might be RUM is because of his name... With the little knowledge of my japanese I must say that "KURO" is "black" and "DA" is "i", being is name KURODA I get the feeling that this literally means "I AM BLACK" pointing at = I belong to the BO. But please correct me if I am wrong, this is just me speculating anyways.

The "Kuro" (黒) in this case does literally mean "black"Vinnie wrote:With the little knowledge of my japanese I must say that "KURO" is "black" and "DA" is "i", being is name KURODA I get the feeling that this literally means "I AM BLACK" pointing at = I belong to the BO. but the "Da" (田) in this case is different than the "Da / Desu" (だ / です) verb "to be".
This "Da" (田) means "field"
In addition, there is an Animal Crossing Hint sent out by Gosho around the time of chapter 906 that says
"じつは もうラムは でてたりしてw” Which could mean "The truth is, Rum has already appeared (laughs)", and imply
that Rum had already appeared in the series somewhere, before Kuroda appeared in 913.
HOWEVER, there has also been speculation that Gosho meant "Lum", since "Rum" and "Lum" are spelled the same
in Japanese. 906 contains an image of Lum and Gosho has drawn Lum in the past as a joke page. If that were the case,
Kuroda could be Rum.
Thirdly, there has also been speculation that about Kuroda due to his backstory about a 10 year coma, that the
current Kuroda might not be the real person who went into the coma.
I hope that I can find someway to contribute to the community even if it's just random crack theories and looking things up for people who can't find the information they need.

And, given the synopsis just released, she may very well be the spy described in the synopsis.

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
Guys I am rereading the manga and by chance I found all sherry'soliloquy and I was getting a look over them until I reached the one for the case I was just reading ch.736 it's the case of the burning dog and inubashi family where conan and hieji were there and it happened and gunma too it says that "The old man on the first page has quite a face, but he has nothing to do with the story, so don't care about him, okay?" An old man with very strange face apperead just in the first page they asked him about the road I don't know if I am overthinking it but be seemed very suspicious to me even if he is Rum or whatever a bad guy I couldn't get a picture so if anyone can look out for if there is any possibility for him to be the one !!!!!

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
It certainly looks interesting. An old man with burning scars on his face, whose left eye is not fully visible, that appears on a case involving "Shinichi Kudo" is not something we see everyday. He isn't related to the burning dog's case, but he seemed to know about it. It wouldn't surprise me if it was Rum or someone else actually.ATEM wrote:Guys I am rereading the manga and by chance I found all sherry'soliloquy and I was getting a look over them until I reached the one for the case I was just reading ch.736 it's the case of the burning dog and inubashi family where conan and hieji were there and it happened and gunma too it says that "The old man on the first page has quite a face, but he has nothing to do with the story, so don't care about him, okay?" If there are more random man like that with muscular or feminine appearance it could be a good lead! Taking a look on cases where Shinichi appears seems to be a good start, he could be his goal after all.

Shinichi didn't appear in that case or do you mean that the killed man name pronounced kudo shinichi
If that is the case then you mean that this case had something to do with the black organization and they mistook that man for shinichi and wasn't just a case of killings for inheritance ??!

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
@ATEM: no, no. What he says is that the old man could've been Rum because he had a peculiar look to his face but it's speculation. And the man named Kudo Shinichi was killed over the inheritance indeed.
Also... The BO aren't as stupid as to confuse two people. The name is identical but the Kanji are wrong. They've got Shinichi's name in a list: they were on his house twice to confirm his death. And Haibara wrote him off as "dead". Gin doesn't remember him either.

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
Recently I started re-watching the series, and noticed something in the ep. 129 special introducing Haibara.
When the DB finally track down the 4 counterfeiters to the newspaper building, Conan mentions at some point that the counterfeit bills were missing an eye on the portrait. Also the appearances of the counterfeiters match up with RUM: an old man, a bulky man, and a woman.
Obviously it's not related to the actual BO, but seems like early foreshadowing, no?

Of coarse the man's face is totally interesting and he appeared without showing both eyes but gosho's words through sherry what made him appear much more interesting

Re: What's the identity of Rum?
@Dak: That's a good catch. But then again I think that Gosho hadn't planned THAT far on ahead. Maybe the idea of Rum came up in the last 5 years for all we know.
