100% of the main game is now translated! We are still translating some of the extra items (such as the caselog, item descriptions, suspect biographies, etc). About 99% of the graphics are completed. We're currently editing the script and watching out for any bugs.

Just a heads up for those that may be interested in getting to know Kindaichi in anticipation of the game: A new anime adaptation of Kindaichi is now on the air and, best of all, it is being simulcast with English subtitles on Crunchyroll.

Really good question. For the most part, you will alternate playing as Conan and playing as Kindaichi on a per-chapter basis. However, both of them are involved in each other's chapters in varying ways, with the two series' characters appearing to interact with each other interchangeably. You'll see certain events from both perspectives at different times and things like that. It's handled really well and gives plenty of nice moments for all of the characters to shine.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the board/have recently discovered this website. I created an account specifically because of this thread. I have a couple things to say and ask.

First off, I want to say thank you to everyone working on this game, as well as the manga, anime, and movies. I appreciate everything you're doing for all of us fans out here who don't know Japanese.

Second, I'd like to ask a question about the game. I see that you say this game should be finished and released sometime in 2014/this year. Given where you are with the game and what you have left to do, do you believe this release time frame is still accurate/do you expect the game will be released sometime this year?

Third, when the game is released, is there something special that will need to be done to play the game? Will it be playable through the PC with an emulator or will you need to use a flash card on a DS? If the latter, will it play on a 3DS?

I appreciate any updates or responses you can give.

Welcome aboard! Always nice to see some new faces around.

To answer your main question: We are still aiming for 2014 and have made great strides in the past couple of months alone. Of course, anything can happen, but we are doing our best to get it out the door on time. Should our schedule change, we'll keep everyone updated here and on Twitter.

Secondly, the game is fully playable via emulator (Desmume, specifically, works great) or via a flashcard. From what I have been told, if you have a flashcard that works with your 3DS, it will work just fine (and naturally will work on your DS as well). The emulation of the game is quite light on PC systems too, so it should work on virtually any modern computer.
