I forgot to make sure I had my house key (seriously, it's the only thing I didn't make sure I had), so I ended up missing the bus to my college, where I'm supposed to be taking my trig test. I can still get there on time, but I'll be cutting it close.

Was in a car accident today, thankfully it went well. No people damaged nor any real damage on the car. But it was very scary when it happened. First I thought it was a flat tire but that it was not, instead the wheel had fallen off. Not a very good place for it to happen either, single file 110 km/h road. And after some scavenging on the other side of the road we found two of four bolts that should've kept the tire in place.

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
Two of my flatmates had an utter screaming match earlier in the kitchen. Things have been building up, over people not doing their dishes, leaving out food on the countertops for ages, and then, while I was away for the weekend, the two who didn't go home for the weekend decided that they needed more shelf space in the fridge and took out all of my things and left them on a countertop. For two days. I had to bin everything. Then they lied to my face about it, saying that I had left the things out before I left, which I hadn't. They drop food down the sink instead of scraping their plates out into the bin, making it clog, always stuff the bin to overflowing rather than taking it out, never lift a hand to tidy up the kitchen and had the gall to complain to another student that it's the rest of us who make all the mess and never do any work...
We're having a flat meeting tonight, the six of us, to try and sort out some ground rules before we become unable to live together for the next six months. I'm praying it doesn't devolve into another screaming match.

I only live with one person, but I have a sorta similar situation. I've convinced him to not leave his dishes in the sink (unless it really needs to be soaked or something) and instead just put it in the dishwasher and run it when necessary, but unfortunately when he empties the dishwasher, he only empties his own stuff, so I never know if my stuff's been washed or not because he just puts his dirty dishes back in with my clean ones :V Basically, he just has no concept of doing household things that benefit people other than himself.mangaluva wrote: Two of my flatmates had an utter screaming match earlier in the kitchen. So, nowhere near as bad as your situation, but I still feel for ya, it's amazing how many people push responsibility onto others when they're not living alone. :I

We don't have a dishwasher. I've just taken to washing my stuff as soon as I'm done with it. Saves trouble in the long run.Akonyl wrote:I only live with one person, but I have a sorta similar situation. The problem is that, of the six people in my flat, two seem to have no concept of housework at all. Both of them have come to Uni straight out of high school and I'm guessing that they never got asked to do dishes at home, because they seem to think that if they just leave their dishes around they'll be cleaned for them. They think it's okay to make a mess, because it'll be cleaned up for them. Guess what, girls; we're not your parents, we're not cleaning up after you, so grow up and deal with your own messes please? kthxbai.

gogo parenting/entitlement :V
my roomy is sort of similar, even when he went to Uni he still had his parents do his laundry. Like, they'd drive to Uni, pick him up for a weekend and he'd get his laundry done when eh was there. He basically refused to do the laundry at Uni :I

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
Whenever I visit home for the weekend, I always bring a whacking great bag of laundry, but I always do it myself. I just lug it home because it's cheaper than the bloody machines in the Union and the washing machine at home has settings gentle enough to wash my salwar and kameez, which I love but were not made with washing machines in mind.
The entitled roommates always just offer to put their stuff in with other people's loads. This part we put up with mainly because they also cough up the full £5 it costs to run the washing machine and dryer.

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
People here seems to have stopped cleaning and doing the dishes after themselves also D: It's awful, we've finally gotten a proper kitchen and if we complain they might remove everything again since people can't take care of it. And people have stolen all my teaspoons and my lunch boxes so I have nowhere to put my leftover food. It makes me so mad!

Re: Today's Bad Stories !
