I'm not sure about that, wasn't she basically born into the organization?  She really didn't have much choice, and in escaped from them to get away from the organization.  Kind of thing if Shinchi had her arrested it would come off way to much as a holier then thou attitude.

If she helps bring it down, she wouldn't be arrested rather than placed into protective custody. Police like criminals that defect and bring down bigger criminal orginizations.

If Shiho end up in jail, I want to see how the other members of BO mock her because she end up just like them after she help so-called justice to defeat BO and I want to know how she will react to that.

anyway,Gosho said it would be a happy ending,so I doubt she'll go to jail...I'm sure the FBI will help her if she helps them to take down the BO...

I always felt that she'd stay a kid. Miyano Shiho just has nothing waiting for her except probably a jail sentence for dangerous drug experimentation. If Shinichi returns to normal, you just know he'll go back to Ran, so it's not like there's anything to wait for her there. But she seems happy with her new "family", her friends, and a life relatively free of the BO's shadow and influence.

anyway,I think in the end the FBI,the police and the BO will know that Haibara=Sherry so in both ways she can be send into jail...I don't see the point to stay as a child if they know the truth...
the only thing is that if she stays as Haibara,she will stay with the DB...great

I think even as Shiho Miyano she can make new friends,or be friend with Ran,Kudo and Sonoko...at least they can understand Shiho 's situation,contrary to the DB,who are just kids...

The Professor will accept Ai to stay with him,as an adult or as a child...

I'm sorry but I can't imagine Ai not taking the antidote...I think it's a waste in her characte development,and I don't want her to live in a lie until the end of her life...

I have 3 scenarios with which I'm okay :
-Haibara/Shiho dies for some reason (sacrifices herself or killed)
-She remains as Haibara because she wants to keep hidding and enjoys the DB's company
-She stays as Haibara or becomes Shiho (this doesn't really matter in this case) and faces the consequences of her acts.

Again, I like Haibara but liking a character and wanting the character to be happy are two different things.

I think the clearest way for her is to live as an adult Miyano Shiho.

Her character is all about accepting her fate and stuff, and running away would mean she did not do any character development. And staying Haibara is kind of a running away thing, if you ask me.

A happy ending for her with a twist: after BO is taken down everone is happy, but now everyone wants to live their lives. Shiho loves Shinichi, but she respects his relationship with Ran, still she can't bare to see them all lovey-dovey, so she decides to move to the US under a new name (yay for witness rotection program). She finds herself a nice police guy there, but when her past is revealed (after a few years) that guy sort of turns into a psycho, because "JUSTICE" and such things and tries to kill her eventhough they were a pair. They go back to Japan, but tadah Shinichi saves her (got a call from Jodie that something is wrong). But she is angry, she wants to die, because with her past it seems to be impossible for her to be loved and accepted. Little does she know that Ran passed away. She and Shinichi get together and live happily ever after, because Shinichi accepts her and her past and well, yeah. <3 I wish I had motivation to write down this fanfiction just once! It is sooooo stuck in my head.

For me, the best ending for Ai are :
1. She's alive.
2. She becomes Miyano Shiho again.
3. She has someone who loves her and accept her despite her past and she loves him back.
When I like a character, I want that character get a happy ending. I'm just that simple.
