Well, it's not like I'm diehard set on it or anything, but Korn also has headgear and alcohol, which Takagi and Chiba don't. :P So if he gets stolen from, there's a 3:2 chance the thief will get something that will point him out as not Takagi/Chiba if he knows he can stake out. Whereas the only difference between Chianti and Jodie is glasses--so in that way, Korn is a little easier to detect.

Yeah. Korn is easier to detect. While Gin can do something in order to look like Akai :P Korn doesn't have much of a chance, since Chiba/Takagi doesn't have a scent either while Akai does :P Which makes it better for Gin too

I dunno if I'm allowed to ask such questions here, but as an observer and Abskonyl enthusiast, I must be knowledgeable whilst I wait for them to rise back to the top.

In the 19th round, we had the criminal bomber who was out to get the town and all that. What other rounds have involved criminals, if any? I haven't really read many of the Mafia threads (in full, that is!), but it was nice to see that role play out in that one.

Only Round 18 and 19 included criminals. I believe they'll make their comeback on Round 21.

though generally, I think GMs would (hopefully) not include double criminals in a game because of the crazy balance issues it'd bring up. :V

Though, a BO + criminal double-killing wouldn't be out of the question.

Like... the personal win condition of each criminal is to out-do the other criminal in terms of bodycount!?!??!???

Having two criminals could make for some interesting scenarios, though there could be some balance issues, yesh. You could possibly make it to where if a criminal is arrested as a criminal by the town, they (the town) get some sort of bonus or something. This also would give the Black Org incentive to keep them alive while they're killing townspeople, but if they fear the criminal's about to be captured, they'd need to kill them off to prevent that.

Intriguing!

What was the previous win condition for the criminal in the previous rounds? I suppose it makes sense for them to really only operate based on their own agenda without a true "win condition" other than to keep killing police. That said with the mindset that they're not really a part of the Black Org/town struggle at the centerpiece of the game.

Was there any reason for the criminal to kill townspeople or was it just police? If not, maybe one of the criminals could be after police and the other could be after the bystanders. If that were so, maybe make it to where if say the townkiller role killed a police officer (I'm not sure what powers they have--just brainstorming here), they would leave behind clues in the form of the GM's briefing on that phase ending in some form. It'd go the same for the one after police if they were to kill town, to put the coppers on their trail. I dunno how applicable any of this would be, but because I liked the criminal in the 19th round, I figured I'd throw the suggestion out while it was fresh. :-X

Well, I think the balance issues aren't all that big, but we haven't even seen all criminals in action yet. Once they're more established, it should be possible to predict how they're gonna affect the game.

Natsuki had the same conditions as other townies, but she was not allowed to get arrested.

In that case the rule of game 18 is still in effect: The criminals killing happens before the BO one. So if the killing BO was killed... bad luck. If both kill the same target - well, most of the time the criminal will kill his target first and the BO will "fail". Except of course if the killer was a sniper and went for a protected (or healed) target.
Which reminds me, that it is not sure yet how protection and healing would effect two normal killings on the same person.

I feel like a healer should keep the victim alive even with two attackers. However, a protector should only protect against the first killing (thus learning the identity of the criminal), Makoto and Ran will have to face the corresponding consequence for their protection - while the BO takes the chance to kill the target again (this time for good). On the same hand a protector protecting the criminals target, while being targeted by the BO would be able to at least save the criminals victim... (and would die by the BOs hands).
Though, it could be ruled differently...
