What was the worst Dub Name Change in your opinion?

True, but Gosho Aoyama's wife (now ex-wife) Minami Takayama is Conan-kun's voice. It just seems as though Funimation or who dubbed Case Closed only employs a handful of actors. So maybe they just did not have a better voice, even though using them might ruin the anime.

I'd say FUNi has a few dozen voice actors overall, but they're all on retainer.

Also, at least the English dub's names are consistent.

In the Spanish Dub (heh, im picking on them again), Heiji's name in episode 48 is Alfredo Adame and in episode 49 (the NEXT episode), it is turned into Alfredo GutiÃ©rrez... Later on in episode 58, it is changed again to Hector Garza. If that's not a lot, it's changed again to Nano Diaz in episode 77.

Although the English dub name changes are bad, they could be WORSE.

And seriously, Harley Hartwell was like wtf????? I mean Harley's a GIRL'S name, RIGHT??? That girl in Batman... y'know, Joker's pertner... AHHH HER NAME IS HARLEY!!! I CAN'T EVER WATCH BATMAN ANYMORE!!! Though I never watched it much before, I still think it's sooo crazy.

"Harley Quinn", or "Harlequin". Well, one of Agatha Christie's detectives is also called "Harley Quin" and he isn't too bad - but not as good as Poirot, of course. xD I guess "Harley" is one of those unisex names.

Anyway. Doesn't "Hailey" mean "hero"?! This is not an insult, but she's not exactly a hero. I mean, isn't she supposed to be a very sad girl with nothing left but her life? Why "hero"?!?! Anita's okay, but Hailey......

just figured I would mention this to you guys ok (aka don't kill me)
funimation did not rename the main characters, TMS is the one that did that becuase they want to put the show on prime time. And have everyone watch it and love it and cause anime to become part of the primetime lineup in all American households. if my last sentence does not sound crazy to you then you might need help.

I can live with Jimmy and Rachel, but I hate how Viz calls Sleeping Kogoro the Sleeping Richard. (I'd prefer Sleeping Moore) I also don't like Yukiko -> Vivian and Harley Hartwell. The name change I hate the most is the Detective Boys. Why must Funi always translate it as the Junior Detective League? Even in the subs they do so, I wish Viz would have left them as the Detective Boys.
