However you want to do it is cool, do you want to keep the old conan design or make it a contest as well? Either way I figure we can post the contest in the art section to get the attention of people who would like to participate.

I guess first of all it would be better to scratch the current sillhouet and make a general competition. If the competition turns out to be flawl we can always use the old one. And yeah, the contest should be posted in the art section, there are alott of talented artists out there that watch DC, so we are bound to find someone willing to entre the contest and winning it.

Don't forget to add shipping into the cost of a shirt.  It may be free from the site, but they only send the bulk orders to someone.  That person would then need to re-ship it to whoever paid for one.

True, we will have to agree on a trustworthy person to handle the money and shipping of the shirts.  For the contest I'm thinking 2 week time limit?  Also do we want to stick with conan, ran, and ai or do you want to expand it a bit and let people choose any character?  We would then vote on the best male/female character.

Here's the things that need to happen or will hold this up from happening:

• Would need the best design possible.  Not hard.
• Would need enough people to pre-order (I didn't look through the site very much, but it seems that each order has to be 25 shirts each, with 5 of each size (S/M/L/XL/XXL).  This would be a large limiting factor.
• Collection of money and such.  Wouldn't be able to do it unless we had enough people ordering.

What do you think the best way to get a good estimate on the number of people who would order a shirt would be?  Like you said this will most likely be the hardest factor of making this idea reality.

First, get a final design, and then make an "official" announcement/post, and see the level of response it gets.  If we get enough responses, then we can start pre-orders (though "down payment" would probably be a better term for it).

The biggest flaw for me lies in the size issue.  Someone who's used that site more thoroughly, is it possible to change the amount of each size you get in an order?

I have never used it before (dont think anyone has) but yes you can specify how many shirts of each size you want.

Why not limit first the number of buyers within the forum, then decide how many you're going to make

I agree with GinRei's point, the contest should be held first, a winner needs to be chosen (meaning a usable sillhouet) and then we can proceed to the actual ordering after we have established how many people are willing to pay for a DCTP-shirt. If that's set the ordering could begin, but we need to keep in mind that we need to buy those shirts in and then re-sell them to the people that ordered a shirt. Because alot of factors are playing a roll in this... But for now let's see if we can get a good design together, starting off with the contest unless someone got a better idea for a usable silhouet.

Technically I haven't yet, but will soon.  Comics took longer to read than expected (omg they took more than 5min to read!?!?), so now it's a matter of finding time between Cost Accounting homework.  It will be done by the end of the night, though.
