Re: Who has been to Japan?
With the value of our american dollar going down due to inflatation, you would find it worse now....
1 U.S. dollar = 106.08954 Japanese yen
Had u invested $1000 american dolalrs in yen back then. Today if you were to turn that yen back into American money you would have an extra $131.12

Re: Who has been to Japan?
I was there for about a week and a half in May... it was amazing. I got about 101 yen to the dollar after the processing fees, and that was better than mostly anyone else from the group got. Tokyo for three days, Kamakura on the way to Atami, Atami for a night, Hakone on the way to the Shinkansen station, Kyoto for three days, Hiroshima for one, Himeji on the way to Osaka, and Osaka for a night and part of the next day.
I put basically all of my pics up:

I don't think this counts, but I remember going to Japan for only a day on my way to Florida. I was only five, so I don't really remember much.

Re: Who has been to Japan?
I haven't been there yet, but I am going in October for 31 days, and I can't wait. I'm from Australia and our exchange rate is pretty much parity with the Yen (slightly in favour of AUD atm though)
Going to go through the three main islands for 21 days, then plan to base myself in Tokyo for 10 days.

Me!!
I went there with my friend for 11 days...
I went to Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Ito (Atami)...
I want to go there again... if I have the time that is...
unfortunately, the stuff over there are very expensive...
transportation can be very complicated... and may become very expensive if you get lost.

I've been a couple times. Now might not be the best time to travel there, though.

Re: Who has been to Japan?
I'll be going over using my own salary... which is I don't know when that will be

Re: Who has been to Japan?
I have. It was actually kinda an accident because we were only meant to stop over for a few hours, but then snow postponed our flight so we went to Disneyland, which was really rushed because we wanted to make it back. When we got back we realised our flight was canceled and so got pissed off at the airport and went like, into Tokyo.
Apart from the epic language barrier Japan is one of my favourite countries.
