Shinichi+Ran

Yeah, the whole Red Black arc with Conan's figure print confuses me, would it be recognized as Shinichi's fingerprint? Oh well. That aside, I believe Ran has suspicion about it, and maybe knows subconsciously, but probably won't act on it for a while. As for when Shinichi tells her about him being Conan, I wouldn't mind telling her after or before the permanent change back, as long as what follows makes sense; though I'd rather not have Shinichi not tell her about it period, like others have said, Conan has had some impact on her life so he should at least tell her in the end. And also, I get the reason why he didn't tell anyone at the start of the series about his identity, but, overtime, wouldn't it "cancel" out anyways? Given a new identity, he doesn't have any associates to begin with, but if he is around the same people either way, and the BO targets Conan for some reason without knowing of his true identity, wouldn't they target the people Conan's affiliated with?

I don't understand how Shinichi's mind works in this kind of situation. Most likely, the BO will target the people around him namely Ran and Kogorou if they did find out who he is.  Although its not in the manga, but take the Raven Chaser for example.. He dreamed that Gin found out about his true identity and decided to kill Ran. The dream is probably out of fear but its not far-fetched, right? If he wanted to protect Ran, he shouldn't have moved in with her in the first place. Then again, there wouldn't be a Detective Conan now, would it? It makes you wonder how Gosho-sensei will pull it off. The climax, i mean.

And as for Ran's suspicions, Conan normally does some serious damage control and manages to fool her for a bit. But just look at how many times Ran suspected Conan. When something comes up that will arouse her suspicions again(be it in the next chapter or the following volumes), she'll go on a rampage trying to find the truth. The only problem is her lack of evidence to prove that Conan=Shinichi. Still, she doesn't dismiss the idea entirely.

Tell me about it! The entire time I watched and read DC, I never got his reasons for hiding his identity to Ran while he's living with her. I mean, she's gonna find out anyway, why not tell her right now when she's not that pissed at you yet?

Well, basically what I'm saying is once it's unquestionably out there.  Either the series has to end pretty soon or the series likely jumps the shark.

They could go that route again, but each time Ran has "found out" it's been done differently.  Still, there might be something building up again as Ran noticed the problem with Heiji's handcuff charm.

yeah, I like to think that Ran is building up new suspicions, even unconsciously she was asking him about the case resolution when they were with Heiji.

Eh...the Kogoro drill punch is like the DC equivalent of the pokemon move bullet seed. It hits you many times, but sucks at doing damage unless you have a type advantage. :p My money's on the Death by Ran or Death by death glare! I doubt the BO could match up to those.

I think Conan is purposely not telling Ran for various reasons.
1) He doesn't want to put Ran in danger by telling her.
2) He doesn't want Ran to do something stupid like go to the police or tell Kogoro.
3) He doesn't want her to continue to worry about him.

Also, telling her would make him living with her... awkward.

Well, based off the way the show is now, she's worrying about him either way; so I guess not telling her makes her worry less.

Obviously if he tells her so soon then Gosho would lose a lot of comic moments where Ran questions Conan's intelligence.  8)
