Well, it kinda depends for me. The first glance I've ever had on anime was when I lived back in Germany and Sailor Moon was on. So as a 2 and something years old, I just remember the girls were pretty. I didn't really know it was anime, though.
The second wave of anime was when I moved to Israel and there a lot of anime from the 80s in the kids' channel. Again, I didn't know all of that was anime, but I thought the animation was really pretty.
Then Pokemon came and my thoughts were "this is weird" followed by "this is awesome"

By then I think I pretty much knew it came from Japan. Still, I'll go with my initial reaction and vote for option 4.

I think the first time I saw an anime was one of those that my parents watched when they where kids in the 80's.

And I thought The girls are really pretty

My first anime was inuyasha so i didn't think anything of it, it had good voice acting, honestly i thought it was an american cartoon that just had a foreign ending (adult swim cuts the openings because they're dumbasses)

When I first saw DBZ, I wasn't a fan of it and my first reaction was "why are their muscles so ridiculously large? Why do they have so much hair?"

so since muscles aren't an option, I'll go with hair.

The first one I watched was Dragon Ball, and I was 5 or 6 years old.
So, I guess it was "it's awesome" because I didn't stop watching it until the end of DBGT!

Pretty much, but I went with "This is awesome" because, although I didn't know it was anime, I still enjoyed it a lot.
