Detective Movies Contest 2013: Information Thread  Current Faceoff

"The energies of our system will decay; the glory of the sun will be dimmed, and the earth, tideless and inert, will no longer tolerate the race which has for a moment disturbed its solitude. Man will go down into the pit, and all his thoughts will perish. The uneasy consciousness, which in this obscure corner has for a brief space broken the contented silence of the universe, will be at rest. Matter will know itself no longer. 'Imperishable monuments' and 'immortal deeds,' death itself, and love stronger than death, will be as though they had never been."

basically this. I think it's a good thing that Occupy happened, but a lot of people seemed to think it was gonna accomplish a lot more than it really had any chance of doing.

I'm surprised about the number of people who don't know since the occupy movements and the British attacks were brought up on this site.

Also, it started out as a good thing, but the NYU Students kinda ruined it and muddied the poinr. So I'll vote answer 2.

@Ako: there was a thing a few months back with people showing up to house auctions for the foreclosed homes, and from what I understand it was working when they first started.

neither did they heyooo

but anyway, though I dunno all the reasons they had, the majority of it was to protest income inequality afaik.

as part of one of the Occupy movments? I don't think I'd heard of that. Although I didn't mean that they would do nothing, but a lot of people were acting like it was some huge thing that was gonna have such great effect that it would be talked about for years to come, but now hardly anyone thinks about it anymore. :V

and Parkur, if you see "Occupy" and dunno what he's talkin about you must live under some kinda rock or something. :P

I heard of these Occupy Wall Street movements. Whatever they did, it was probably good, but doesn't seem to have changed much. Well, I don't know that much about it :P
