My brother randomly walked past my room yelling "Mom, where's my top hat and fob watch?"

I was told a story from when mom was a child today.

It was a really cold and snowy winter, it was so much snow they had tunnels to some places instead of paths. And it wasn't easy on the animals so my grandfather and some other people around where they lived volunteered to help. So they skied and collected deer. And I quote (and translate ):

"The deer were so exhausted, cold and out of energy that they [the volunteers] could easily pick them up and put them in their backpacks. [...] Of course the backpacks were big, but deer doesn't take much place if you fold them together. [..] They are mostly legs anyway, that's what I meant with folding."

The [...] parts would be me asking questions.

So they had them in a part of the nearby stable until the beginning of spring came.
