First Amendment rights might be able to prevent any charges from being levied against an American who spoke out against Obama.  No guarantees, though, I think.

Ah, that's true.  Threats are taken pretty seriously, I'm sure.  Wow, how did that detail slip my mind?  I must be completely out of it.

As far as the threats go, there's no surprise if the FBI gets involved in every little detail that could be considered even remotely threatening, especially with as much as people can't stand Obama.

Sheesh, I don't know how many times I heard of someone contemplating murder if Obama became president in 2008 right before the election.

At least one person wanted to murder me because I didn't vote against Obama. (I didn't vote at all, for the record. I wouldn't have voted for McCain, and I didn't see the point in throwing in a vote for someone who stands no chance of ever winning. So I didn't bother. Probably not the best way to do things, but whatever.)
