If the second episode of pokemon taught me anything, it's that electric mice will save me from swarms of beedrills.

I thought they were birds  :P

They were. It was a flock of Spearow or Fearow. (Can't remember which evolution, it's been too long. Might've been both.)

Didn't he zap some Beedrill at some point, too? I don't know if it would work as well against non-pokemon wasps, though.

In the anime, Ash Ketchum owned a Metapod that evolved from a Caterpie when Ash sent it out, and it took down both James's Koffing and Jessie's Ekans by himself using String Shot and Tackle.[92] Metapod was first sent out in a battle against Samurai, and managed to defeat his Pinsir  despite only being able to use Harden. Samurai decided to send his own Metapod out against Ash's; neither could attack, and both had to sit stationary and keep hardening. This was interrupted by a swarm of Beedrill that snatched Ash's Metapod away when he forgot to pick it up before running off. Ash found it with a hive of Kakuna. Metapod, seeing a Beedrill about to attack Ash, leapt up and took the blow, breaking the Beedrill's stinger and getting a large gash in its shell. Metapod then evolved into Butterfree and stopped all the Beedrill with a Sleep Powder attack.[93]

so, I guess I need a metapod to save me.

In my experience, those things only look out for themselves. I wouldn't trust one to evolve for you.

I had one my first game ever, and it missed with tackle every single time. And then it wouldn't listen to me when it evolved. >:(

For the Butterfree, yeah. I mean, I was just trying to keep it alive, but it insisted on loafing around all the time. Like making me mad was more important than avoiding massive pain and injury, which I guess I have to admire on some level.

Returning to the topic, maybe you should just use a force field.

Speaking about beedrills, they seems to run into those all the time, but as far as I recall most of the time they just run like hell.

they're bees with drills for hands. What's not scary about this?

Speaking of Beedrills, the Twineedle move was the last move that I noticed it existed. Like, 5 years after start playing, a Beedrill used Twineedle on me and I was like "WTH!? is that a secret move or something!?"

P.S: Bug-types on first generation didn't get to me, except all-mighty Butterfree ;D

Cool pic, I didn't say it was cowardly or whatever you are implying there, I just stated a fact. Meaning a pikachu probably isn't the most effective weapon against bees.

fair enough, as long as you're not trying to deny you'd run from em too.
