I'm not sure I see the poitn for holding a ceremony for a wedding that apparently already happened, but I am not opposed to having a party thrown for me for any reason as long as I don't have to pay for it.

I fail to see the point of running a fundraiser to give me money to pay for it rather than just running the fundraiser to pay for it.
