LAST TIME, ON DETECTIVE CONAN
We were on our way to Fukuoka to investigate both the mysterious second Shinichi, and of course to look into my old friend's trail of mysteries.
But on the way, two thirds of the way into the flight, the captain was found murdered!
The co-pilot is very capable of landing the plane, but we'll have to act fast to find the killer!
Remember, Thursday nights are for mystery!
[Cue scene.]
Conan-kun!
* ProfessorAgasa is still siting in a chair, watching the kids.
Heiji made his way to the front of the plane to the cockpit. He knocked on the door. "Excuse me, co polot san?"
Ah, is that my coffee?
Bring it in, I could use it.
edogawa-kun where have you been
Ne, Conan-kun...
Well, don't keep me waiting!
*glances behind him at the suspects, and starts toward the front of the plane after Hattori*
*stands in the back and smiles intently*
"Uh no... Have you not heard what has been going on?" he had his hand on the dor knob]
If you don't have my coffee, I don't want to hear about it until you DO have it.
* SakamotoTakeshi grumbles.
*has caught up with Hattori in time to hear that* . . .
*suddenly grins childishly and shoves past Hattori* Waaa, Cool! *he scampers over to the pilot's chair and hops in, careful not to touch any controls* I've never been up here before!
C-- Conan-kun!
H-Hey!
Be careful kid!
"Don't worry, neechan. let the kid explore" he put a hand in front of ran and smiled.
* SakamotoTakeshi doesn't look away from the controls.
I'm serious! Be careful!
This isn't a time to play!
"Sakamoto-san was it? Are you aware that the pilot has been murdered?" Heiji approached him.'
How could I not be aware?
He was gone for so long, and do you think I didn't hear the scream?
*takes on a sad note* Ah, I guess you're right. *perks up* Ne ne, oniisan, did you know Yasou-oniisan very well?
"You don't seem like you care. any reason for that?"
Not to mention the fact that I've had an attendant running in every five minutes...
Are you joking?
This isn't a time to get emotional, I'm flying a plane.
In case your little detective game had you distracted, there's no auto-pilot.
We took off because we were confident we wouldn't need it.
I haven't been able to leave the controls for a second since I took over half an hour ago.
Now do you think I have a reason to be a little preoccupied, tantei-sama?
"Like the kid said, did you know the pilot very well?" heiji was already putting the clues together.
*wanders in causually* theres no auto-pilot?
Why are you letting kids in here?
Where is Iida-san?
I--- I'm sorry!
Ran-oneesan!
A-- Ai-chan, Conan-kun, you two shoudnt be here!
* Ayumi scrambles to catch up with Ran...
Tell Iida-san to stop letting children in here! And my coffee! God, I need some coffee...
*glances over at the controls, then back at Sakamoto-san* Ne, oniisan... Can you really land the plane by yourself? That must be pretty scary, having no one to help you!
Ah, it's not actually so bad.
I've landed plenty of planes.
'Course, Yasuo-san was easily my superior.
but dont you need two people to land a plane?
C-- Can I do something for you---? *she's talking about the coffee*
It's not a complicated process. Most attendants are trained to be proficient enough to handle co-landing.
That's not to say they're pilots, but they can listen and pull a stick.
That said-- If you could get me my coffee, I'd be forever in your debt.
*looking around for any possible clues near the pilot's chair*
Ran-oneesan...*tugs on her sleeve*
Maybe we should get out of here?
Y-- Yes! *walks out*
* Ayumi follows Ran.
Coffee... Coffee... *wandering*
Ne, Oniisan. Did you know Yasou-san well?
Shouldn't one of the flight attendants be bringing him coffee?
Well, we weren't blood or anything.
That said, I've flow a number of flights with the man.
He was a damn talented pilot.
Had offers from all over. I don't know why he started jumping puddles.
Ehhh. Ne, was Yasou-san acting wierd at all?
Weird, huh?
Well... I guess there were a couple things.
It's ok, Ayumi-chan! *smiles* If I give him what he wants, he'll be in a better mood to answer, dont you think?
He was a little ill, I think.
Ill? *blinks*
He was hoarse tonight: couldn't speak terribly loud.
Yeah!
We can help Heiji-oniisan get to the bottom of the case!
Dunno why. He said he lost his voice earlier that evening.
Let's find one of the attendants and see what happened to pilot-san's coffee! *^_^*
Yes, we can help him. *smiles* Here! *starts making coffee*
Said he woke up from his shift off and he hardly do more than whisper.
*in a low voice* find anything interesting edogawa-kun?
It was okay for us though. We're mostly to the point of communicating on nonverbals.
Plus, the microphone helps.
Oh-- there was one other thing.
He showed up late-- I think it was probably because he was feeling bad. Anyway, he actually got on after all the flight annoucements.
Are you like... that tantei's assistant?
"Oh? He never mentioned anything to you?"
Well, he muttered something about being late, but I didn't question him because he said he wanted to save his voice.
Ehh, is that so? *blinks* Ah, iie. I live with Mouri Kogoro, I just like to play detective! *smiles innocently*
"Did he seem weird up to the last time you saw him"
I just told the kid he was feeling a bit ill.
Ask him about it. I have enough on my plate.
Done... *smiles*
*wanders in* Sa-- Sakamoto-san...
Yay! Now we can take pilot-san his coffee! *^_^*
Ah, is that my drink?
* Ayumi follows Ran around...
Thank you very much.
Y-- Yes *smiles gently*
* SakamotoTakeshi directs the coffee to be set on a small tray next to him.
I'm sorry it took my a while...
Don't worry, I've been waiting on it for a while.
*blinks, something occuring to him* Ne, Oniisan... did anyone come in here during the flight besides us?
Maybe around thirty minutes ago?
Well, the attendants, but that's it.
No, the closest someone came in was about an hour and a half ago, a half our into the flight.
That was Iida-san, checking if we needed anything.
I told her that she would be paged if we needed anything else.
"Anything else"?
She brought something in earlier?
Or one of the other attendants?
Ah, yeah. Yasuo-san indicated he wanted some coffee.
I called Iida-san for it.
Did Iida-san bring it?
Yes. She's stationed directly outside the cockpit, as the chief attendant.
There's one other attendant there, too.
Ehh. *pushes the seat back and hops out of it* Arigatoo, Oniisan! I'll let you concentrate on flying the plane now. It'd be bad if we were distracting you while we landed. *smiles and heads out of the cockpit*
Heiji follows Kudo.
do you know who did it?
* SakamotoTakeshi sips coffee.
*stops not far from the cockpit* It's still hard to say. *frowns* There's still not enough evidence to narrow down the suspects.
it seems we need more clues
"More questions..."
And there's still no sign of a murder weapon...
something is missing, what could it be?
*whispering to herself* He acts like Shinichi in this type of situations...
Who does, Ran-oneesan?
N-- Nothing, Ayumi-chan, really! Nothing...
But...did you mean Conan-kun, or Heiji-oniisan?
Conan-kun looks a lot more like Shinichi-oniisan than Heiji-oniisan does! *^_^*
Yes--- In fact I was talking about Conan-kun...
Mitsuhiko comes back from the bathroom. "Huh? Conan-kun like Shinichi-san?"
Yeah, Conan-kun looks a lot like Shinichi-oniisan! *^_^*
I wonder if maybe they are brothers..
*pauses by the attendant station before the front bathrooms, his sharp eyes looking for anything suspicious or out of the ordinary*
Well, they're relatives...
Except the can't really be brothers, can they?
Since they don't have the same last name....
Conan-kun is "Edogawa" and Shinichi-oniisan is "Kudou"....
*walks over to conan kun and whispers* careful, edogawa kun, they are talking about you
But my mother is "Kisaki", and I'm "Mouri", Ayumi-chan.
Kisaki? Um....where have I heard that name before....
* Ayumi is thinking...
Kisaki san is a famous lawer
"Ah! The popular Lawyer Eri Kisaki!" He spoke up
Eri? Hey, that's the same as my aunt's name!
That's my mother! *proud*
But I don't remember Eri-obasan's last name...~_~*
I haven't seen her since I started school...been too busy... ~_~*
*wanders back down the aisle, thinking, having spotted nothing unusual in the attendant's station at the front*
"The attendant at the front bathroom sure is weird though.. She seemed adamant to keep me away from the front.. "
Didn't she say it was broken?
Hey, maybe we should see what broke!
edogawa-kun, come here there is something under this seat
* Ayumi heads toward the 'broken bathroom'
He smiled sheepishly. "I forgot I guess. Hehe."
* SakamotoTakeshi is now known as IidaHaru
* IidaHaru stops the girl at the door.
The door's locked: that bathroom's broken, I'm afraid.
But..what broke?
* IidaHaru tests the handle to show her.
Maybe Hakase can help fix it!
* Ayumi looks closely at the handle
*pauses, looking over his shoulder, hearing Iida and Ayumi talking* Broken?
Is he a plumber?
Yes, actually.
Er, no, Hakase is an inventor!
Did you miss the announcement?
It was at the beginning of the flight.
He makes all kinds of things! *^_^*
* Ayumi shows her the watchlight
He made these for us! *^_^*
The first class bathroom is out of service, so everyone has been going to the two in the back.
Oh, I see.
What a wonderful device.
*sitting beside the window*
* IidaHaru smiles at her.
Is the handle what broke?
No, I think it's the plumbing.
Here, why don't I show you to the other restroom, and if you want it, I'll get you a snack while we wait for the investigation to finish.
Ok!
... *turns and heads back to the back, eventually finding himself back at the crime scene* . . . *pushes the door open and goes to examine the room again*
* IidaHaru heads for the back and busies herself at the other station.
Ah, wait...no...I don't need the bathroom...
I guess that didn't help....
* Ayumi wanted to help investigate.
* Ayumi glances around, looking for Conan-kun.
* Ayumi spots Conan near the crime scene and rushes over to him
Ne, Conan-kun, can I help?
Please?
Heiji followed conan to the crime scene. 'there must be something else here...'
* IidaHaru bends down to Ayumi.
Did you want a snack?
No, I'm OK!
I want to help!
*follows edogawa-kun back to the crime scene*
* Ayumi is trying to help Conan
* EdogawaConan finds himself looking at the loose-screwed paneling on the opposite wall of the body* ... *glances around the rest of the bathroom for anything else suspicious*
Ne, Conan-kun...
How could they get the weapon into the plane?
"yeah.. gotta be an accessory that people don't check for.."
* Ayumi notices the loose panels on the wall that Conan was looking at
Hey...how come they're all loose?
It's not supposed to look like that, is it, Conan-kun?
Ah. *also distrubed by the panel, but lacking any tools to check it out*
* Ayumi pokes the odd panel
I wonder what's on the other side of this?
* Ayumi runs out of the bathroom to look at where the other side of the wall would come out
* ProfessorAgasa walks up to the bathroom.
Conan-kun, have you found anything?
Ne, Hakase, that panel is weird... *points to the weird panel*
*goes up to Katou Miko* Ne, Oneesan? Can I ask you something?
Of course, what is it, Tantei-san?
Could it be that... *lifts a hand and whispers his question* Was it like that?
yes lets all sit and watch
* EdogawaConan goes back to hanging around Hattori's feet, having some suspicions, but feeling he's still missing things to make a full case
* Ayumi comes back in, pouting because she wasn't able to figure out where the other side of the weird panel lead to.
* RanMouri sighs, staring at the window.
Heiji grinned. He had it. he knew what happened. "I know what happened. You arenn't such a brat after all, little girl" he looked at Ayumi
Huh?
* Ayumi looks up at Hattori
"Katou-san, would you get all the attendants here?"
Oh... alright.
* KatouMiko goes to get the other two attendants.
Ah, and the suspects. *flashes a slight smile* They should know, since they're suspects, ne Heiji-niichan?
Don't you want me to get the other two suspects?
"Course, conan-kun."
"Why don't you get them? "
* KatouMiko goes and gets the other two suspects.
"Things didn't seem to fit into place for the longest time.. But facts like the pilot being late and the attendants only going to the front. I understand. IIda-san, you are the culprit!" He pointed at her
...What?
You can't be serious.
You think I murdered the captain in a bathroom in a few seconds with no one noticing?
People saw me unlock the bathroom door.
Besides, what would I kill him with?
The fact is that if you want to go making big claims, you might consider having some proof first!
"Though we never asked the relationship. You are the only one who could have done it. You being the front attendant. Which means you are in charge of keeping people away from the front bathroom that was out of order."
Tantei, you should get your facts straight!
The body was found at the back!
*smirks slightly, catching onto Hattori's line of thinking* Which means... you could keep them out of the -real- crime scene.
HEiji smirked. "Let me finish."
* IidaHaru eyes widen slightly.
"You used that to you avantage to draw the pilot to the front since he was late to the flight. You murdered the pilot in the front bathroom."
Really now? If that's the case, why don't we take a look there.
If there's one drop of blood on the floor, then you can put me in irons here and now.
"of course there is no blood. Because you had time to clean up after yourself since no one would come to that bathroom."
"That's why she was acting so weird! She was still..."
So you're basically saying that I killed the captain, magically transported him to the back of the plane, and cleaned up the evidence without a trace?
Tantei, you're clearly not in your element.
Even so, When the police meet us when we land... Any blood that did fall in the bathroom will still be exposed to luminol. *smiles*
Heiji smirked. "Course not, cause you used the screwdriver to stab him and shoved him down below into the luaggage compartment."
That's outrageous.
But it doesn't matter: there were plenty of people at the front of the plane!
Any one of them could have gotten into the bathroom.
But the bathroom's locked...
Then how did the captain get in?
You showed me that...
You unlocked it for him?
"You let him in and then shut the door behind you."
I don't see any proof of that. And even if that was the case, any member of the crew could have done that.
*to Ayumi* Ah. She's got the keys because she's part of the staff on the plane.
That's what I thought! *^_^*
That includes Lin Mei, who was with me at the front station!
*appears, watching the deduction show*
"But your reaction to the scene changes that. When you found the body you said 'He's dead!' as if you already knew."
"And for the evidence. There will be plenty when they check the luggage department where you let him bleed out."
Not to mention the screwdriver, which probably has your prints all over it, O-nee-san.
... I don't get what you mean. How could I have been in the luggage? You said I was at the front, then you said the body as at the back.
Your story is jumping all over.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a screwdriver in luggage. Why not? It's a plane.
And if you're right, and he was stabbed with one, that doesn't mean it was me.
You forget the fact that I was never in the back of the plane!
Therefore I couldn't have stabbed him or been to luggage!
But would a screwdriver be allowed past security?
"Most bathrooms are located right above the luggage department, all you had to do was shove his body below into the luggage department. you dragged it to the current placement of the corpse. With the screw driver you akwardly  shoved his body through the panels. Since you left the screw driver down below.. you couldn't reconnect the panel. The screws were loose as ayumi-chan pointed out."
"Your fingerprints would also be on the screws since you had to do it by hand."
...
You're right, Tantei-san. It happened just as you said.
I shouldn't have doubted the Kansai detective.
... Iidia-san---
"Iida-san... Why though?"
Hah... "why"... what a silly question it seems like now...
You know Yasuo-san was famous, did you not?
"Of course.."
Well, he played the part of a hero pretty well in public, but that's not what he really was.
The flight that made him famous was manufactured!
He sabotaged the engines and caused the plane to start to crash.
But--- But-- What about that famous landing story?
It was all stupid... it was that stupid greed of his.
N-- No... *covering her mouth with her hands*
I went and told him what I saw...
I said I'd tell the police.
I saw him doing it, you know.
But he said that he'd tell them I was his accomplice.
There'd be no way to prove him wrong... I was out there when he was doing it!
He risked the lives... of everyone on that plane...
Just to LOOK GOOD.
Does that SOUND like a HERO?
B-- But killing is not th solution!
When would it end?
He's not a hero, but you're a murderer now!
"No.. But a wrong doesn't correct a wrong..."
That's all I have to say. I have the right to say nothing, still.
Iida-san...
I never knew. But they are right. This wasn't the way.
(To the others) We should be arriving soon, as it is.
You should find your seats. I'll sit with Iida-san, to make sure she doesn't try to leave.
Ah, OK!
* Ayumi runs back to where she'd been sitting next to Ran, and struggles to put the seatbelt back on.
* ProfessorAgasa already asleep again.
Ne-- Conan-kun...
* EdogawaConan heads back to his seat as well, slowly*
* KatouMika is now known as SakamotoTakeshi
* HattoriHeiji sad music plays as the culprit is handcuffed.
(Intercom) Will Iida-san come to the cockpit? I need help landing the plane.
'What?'
Heiji looked to conan
*pauses by the row to his seat, then looks behind him* Hattori, keep Iida out of trouble, ne? *runs down the aisle towards the cockpit*
Conan-kun!
*follows him*
"Oi! Ahou!"
Conan-kun!!
Where're you going!
We're supposed to buckle back up!
* Ayumi is still trying to get her seatbelt fastned
"Everyone stayed seated! fasten your seatbelts!"
I'm trying to!
(Intercom) Iida-san, hurry. We need to land soon.
Heiji-oniisan, it won't fasten!
Mitsuhiko quickly got to his seat and tried to help Ayumi-chan. "Here." He tried to help her buckle it
*steps into the cockpit and closes the door behind him and sits in the pilot's chair*
'kudo... masaka omae..' heiji bit his lower lip
Con-- *watches the door closing in front of her eyes* ...
Eh? You're not Iida-san.
You're that kid who lives with Sleeping Kogoro!
* Ayumi finally gets the belt fixed
Ah! Thanks, Mistuhiko-kun!
But...what's Conan-kun doing?
And why aren't Ran-oneesan and Heiji-oniisan sitting down?
*starts walking slowly to her seat again*
Ran-kun, you should find your seat quickly.
sits down next to iida
You don't want to stand when we descend!
I'm worried about Conan, Hakase...
Conan-kun can take care of himself, Ran-kun. He's very independent. I'm sure he'll be back any second.
R-- Right *smiles*
*puts the headphones on, adjusting it to fit his head before buckling the seatbelt* Ah, sorry. But it'll be better for Iida-san not to come up here. I've helped my dad fly and land a plane before, so I know enough of what to do.
...
What are you, six?
I'm not letting a first grader fly a plane!
*sits down, smiling to Ayumi*
*smirks, a confident look on his face* Don't underestimate me. I'm not your average gradeschooler. Let's do this.
grabs on to the arm rests.
..
Seriously?
You SERIOUSLY expect me to let you do this?
It'd be dangerous to everyone to let Iida-san do so. And there are some people on this plane... that I can't let die.
If you know one thing about landing a plane, say it now, or I'm kicking you out.
*sits in seat and buckles seat belt*
Damnit, we don't have time or fuel for this.
You'll have to do.
Alright, listen to me VERY carefully.
Shouldn't you be contacting the control tower now?
I'm already in contact with them. They've been on standby so I could get a copilot in here.
Control, this is Sakamoto, are we clear?
*nods, and lets his hands rest on the controls where they should be, taking them firmly in his hands*

You mean like a blooper reel of all the funny OOC stuff? XD I figured I'd do that after the entire case was completed.

Wow.....Cool!
Must have taken forever to edit out all the various OOC bits...~_~*

Thanks so much for doing this, Shinichi-oniisan! *^_^*
I have finally started to actually publish my story! For the moment, expect a new chapter each month.

The Case of the Midnight Channel
"When a strange letter summons the Mouri family to Inaba, Ran is expecting a case. She's not expecting it to involve the TV, though.
If Naoto investigated everyone who came to visit Inaba, she'd have little time for real cases. When Yukiko reports that the Midnight Channel is back, however, she starts to wonder if the visitors are connected. Especially when the image clears, unveiling yet another mystery."

Short version: I'm taking various DC/MK characters to Inaba (where Persona 4 takes place) and dropping them through the TV to face their Shadows!

I'm used to it. I head another RP somewhere else, so it's not that much of an effort to go through a relatively short (?!) file like this.

This is short? Woah...
Then again, I suppose we didn't really rp for all that long. And we did keep getting sidetracked. ~_~* I'd hate to try making a transcript of my Saturday group's entire night! Especially with all the rolls involved...(currently running a BESM 'space-opera' campaign, later we'll play D&D 4e again...)

Ahem. GM here. Just thought I'd mention that this case is certainly a tricky one.

This time, instead of straight up giving Kudou the answer AND all the clues that lead up to it, I think I'll start feeding him big clues and see if he can figure it out himself!

Episode 3 updated!

Conan-kun obviously had other things on his mind than solving a simple murder case, so Hattori Heiji of the West gets to take the credit this time!

Join us again Sunday at 23:00 EST on #[email protected] for the next case part in Fukuoka!
