I thought you're gonna say QuickTime, RealPlayer, WMP, MPC etc

Anyways, if you're referring to codecs, I believe CCCP's good enough, if not the best
With this, I can watch even on WMP11 (fave player) ^_^

But I sometimes use VLC Media Player just because of the snapshot feature... for some reason, I can't use Print Screen on vids, so... (is this normal, or my comp's got a virus?)
But then, for me, its quality is crap. (And I can't believe I'm recommending crap :<) But if you don't want codec packs, then this is the only one for you, I guess :P

It's normal for WMP.  Personally, I use WMP9 (old school ftw) on this computer, but will probably switch to MPC when I eventually finish transfering files to my new computer.

It's normal for most, if not all, players. The screens you see in your players work much differently than a moving/still picture. If you take a screen shot using the normal way, you will get a blank image when you paste it on paint unless your playing something.

Then the player I use isn't normal. I use GOM and I can print screen (though I think my print screen isn't normal either, since I heard from someone that it should later appear in the desktop but I need to paste it in the drawer and then save it.)

I was able to use print screen using ReaL player.....

The other players I use are Hai hai soft, and Media Player...I also use the Windows Movie maker to remove the opening and ending songs... I think Ulead studio is also capable of trimming clips...
