Okay, I have to address this...I was watching this garbage anime called PPGZ. (POWERPUFF GIRLS Z).  Now I know that there are people that like it, but I don't like it better than the original. Yet, some people say they like it better simply because its an anime. What?! Sure, A LOT of animes are better than our cartoons, but you cannot except something simply because its an anime! Some animes suck, and some worse than our cartoons! Animes can get so repetitive that its like watching another anime.
PPGZ is too repetitive: Childhood friend who saved bubbles life, transformations, and the ditsy leader, etc. And then the Rowdyruff boys suck! I just cannot get into this stupid anime! But I had to rant about people who simply like things just because it is in an anime! That does not mean its good.
I understand that is the culture of Japan, but come on, people! Japan happens to have uniqueness in some of the few animes, so pick the ones that stand out. PPGZ is like us to taking Cardcaptors Sakura and redesigning it and everything to fit America's liking. Can't be done without suckiness!!!! 
(Note: My fave Romance is Cardcaptors Sakura's)

Absolutely Agree! And did you see the supposed ENGLISH DUB. That is just a fail! It was worse than Cardcaptors Sakura, Mew Mew Power, and Digimon's dub. Why did they even make an English dub?

yeah! it's terrible because PPGZ was suppose to have real names having "Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup" as their hero names..... :-|

but in the English dub, they changed the names straight to Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup... so they kinda removed the whole "secret identity" thing o_O

PPGZ is pretty awful.  As you said OP, there's both bad anime and bad cartoons, as well as good anime and good cartoons.  I felt like this  was redesigned to pander more to ronery otaku with a kink for anime girls.  A lot of the original PPG was meant to parody superhero tropes and action-oriented shows (it was created by the same guys that did The Justice Friends and Dial M for Monkey in between Dexter's Lab shorts, after all).

And plus...they ruined The Mayor.  Damnit, he was the best character.   It's not the same without bald/height/picklejar jokes.

Right! I loved Mayor! And I also hate Henshin animes too because they have the worst story lines and half the time they take up is transforming. And it does pander Ronery Otaku! I just realized that...

i liked ppg more than ppgz... when i first watched it, i was like, "what did they do to 'my' blossoms?? gluttonous much??" i don't hate it but they did so many changes... the transformation stuffs is so corny...

Well, when I first watched PPGZ, I actually liked it. You just have to watch it with the perspective that nobody who is actually watching this American-based anime has watched the original PPG. This series is just like the other mahou-shoujo series. The only reason why everyone's personality has changed (Mayor included!) is because the jokes would probably make any sense in Japanese. The series is mostly about fighting crime and secret identities.

I love the series' music. The first ending song is very catchy, actually.

Peach was the most interesting one to watch, though.

Aside from it being the biggest copy, it just sucks as an anime. Seriously they should not have made PPGZ at all. But that is so true about our jokes being different...yet even still it should have never been invented....I mean how come they didn't make the RowdyRuff Boyz a little cooler? We accept Japanese things when they send it over here. They should accept some of our culture and embrace it as it is. But I forget that the rest of the world doesn't quite frankly accept other cultures yet.....They could've did so much with the Rowdyruff boys...I can't stress it enough...I love RRB....and, aside from that THEY GAVE BUBBLES A CHILDHOOD STEREOTYPICAL FRIEND AS HER ROMANTIC INTEREST. And Blossom is a complete moron.  Why did she have to be a ditz?WHY, WHY, WHY!!  Dang it ticks me off thinking about it!!!!! 
The biggest problem here is the fact that people said it was good simply because its an anime and that is just stupid, IMAO.

if it's not an anime, and simply an american different style of ppg, i still would watch it...

it's the Sonic the hedgehog effect.

If you are going to make something new, don't use a popular name just to make sure it does well. That sucks and you suck for making money off of it. Unless the thing that made that series popular is still what it should be. (which is why it's not the Mario effect)




from what little I've seen, the anime is unoriginal as hell.

i really think shugo chara's better without character transformations... hahah... but i really like beat jump and yamato maihime chara nari(s)...
