Last time, on Detective Conan!
Everyone was recovering in the hospital, lacking a sense of direction.
Heiji, it seems, will need time to recover.
His knee was injured and requires therapy.
That said, Conan has uncovered a new lead...
Will we finally confront the Fake Shinichi?

The words that were mispelled were--
Well-- there were several. Missing whole kanji.
Taken in order, the missing kanji are the following:
* EdogawaConan pulls out his notebook to write it down
Numbers: 1218, Kanji: 良町奈屋
Why do you even care about those, though?

Oh, and the words were mostly near the same lines as those letters. They're bisected by them.

If you remember, we had to solve that picket fence puzzle before by considering the kanji in an unusual order.
It wouldn't be implausible that the trick is being used again, especially considering the third kanji is meaningless in its current position.
So if they're mixed up....*starts writing them in different orders*

If they're talking about a street, most of the streets in the Hakata Ward, and the city in general, end with the kanji for "town".
Mitsuhiko stood next to Conan confused. "I wish I knew more kanji.." He groaned.
Though this is also true of the kanji for "city".
Ngh... *mumbles Gin's name again*
Damn--! *rushes out the room*
Is Mouri-san alone in Fukuoka?! *talking to the girls*

* EdogawaConan comes to a sudden stop right at the door, staring worridly inside...
* Ayumi crashes into Conan's back

* Nurse walks out the room
* EdogawaConan catches his balance just short of falling
Can we talk, sir? *stares at Hakase*
* Nurse looks down, seeing Conan's expression
"A-" Mitsuhiko was going to reach for Ayumi, but he saw the scared look on Conan's face.

He smiled.

Haibara let out a relieved sigh. But Ran wouldn't be good for long.

* EdogawaConan stations himself at the edge of the door (not blocking entrance, but so he can see inside) and refuses to budge
* ProfessorAgasa eyes widen.
* ProfessorAgasa whispers back urgently, "Well? What are they doing to help her?!"
I need to know what happened to her.

She was suspended...over...Ayumi's not sure what it was....
You see, sir, state of shock comes from a response to a terrifying event.

"Nothing can be said about this, Yoshida-san." She whispered harshly

* ProfessorAgasa whispers to the nurse, "I believe that there were criminals threatening her in a warehouse before it caught on fire."
"You do not realize the margin of this if..." She stops herself. remembering that ayumi is only 7 and can't take this kind of stuff.
I need to know if she was exposed to a stressful situation.

Mitsuhiko looks at them worried. Wondering what exactly happened in there. He knows it must have been so bad... Because Ayumi and Ran-san were in major shock.

* Ayumi starts crying quietly

"Wh- What?!" Mitsuhiko eyes widened and his breath quickened. "Ran-san!" He yelled into the room.
*Hisses* THAT'S WHAT I SUGGESTED.
I-is R-Ran-one-neesan g-gonna be o-okay?
* Nurse stares sadly at the girl and starts walking, pointing at a nurses office. 'Please, this way, sir'
* ProfessorAgasa follows her.
I dont know if Mouri-san is gonna be OK.
* Ayumi is crying harder now, worried and starting to panic herself
. . . *glances behind him towards Ran's room, and follows after Hakase, walking in his shadow; he didn't WANT to leave, but it was the only way to find out her condition...*
She's into a severe state of shock, that will surely end up with PTSD.
"A-Ayumi-chan. I am sure everything will be ok." He put a hand on her shoulder. "They got to her quickly, right? She'll be fine!" He had his own doubts. But Ayumi was in so much pain.
We must talk to her father about this.
She's the daughter of the sleeping Kogoro, am I right?

"Yoshida-san, I am sorry you had to be brought into this battle..." She said under her breath
If we can stabilize her, she'll be fine, with medication. Maybe, with amnesia.
He looked at Haibara. Only hearing what she said barely. "Haibara-san... Are we going to die?" He looked at her with wide eyes
* EdogawaConan hears that and thus ambles back to the others, considering what to do
She looked back with a stern expresssion. "..."
You have to avoid everything that can remind her the stressful event.
A-and it's all Ayumi's fault....T_T
He gasped, shaking. He squeezed his eyes shot.
She's been in a state exactly like this before after someone was shot in front of her.
... She was mumbling someone... She stopped breathing, and she was trying to say someone's name over, and over again... Who's "Gin", sir?
Sounds like gibberish to me. Her father is an alcoholic, maybe she's having dreams about his alcoholic stints?
... *reaches out and lightly grasps Ayumi's shoulder to briefly comfort her* It's alright.
"A- A- Ayumi-chan. This is no ones fault! This.. " He clenched his fist. "This was only supposed to be a tressure hunt.. But.." He choked back tears. "Now all this happens... Why?"
"WE ARE ONLY CHILDREN!!" He punches the wall.
* Ayumi leans into Conan's hand, appreciating the comeforting presense of her Oniisan.
T_T *crying hard now*
Haibara with her arms still crossed, closes her eyes in defeat. "Yeah... You all are only children..."
Uh? *grabs her beeper*
"Ku...
*looks over at Mitsuhiko, an idea starting to form in his mind; it was risky but....* We might just be kids, but... we're the Detective boys too, right? *a prominent smirk flashes across his face* It's our job as detectives... to catch -all- of the bad guys.
" he cries
*it registers in Ayumi's mind that Ai said "you" and not "we"*
*sniff* Uh-huh...
Ah, you can go with the kids now, sir
And to protect *sniff* Ran-oneesan....
* Nurse rushes into Ran's room

"Y- Yeah.. We've gotten into rough situations before.." He wipes his tears away.
* ProfessorAgasa walks over and collapses onto a nearby bench and puts his face in hand.
So? *he smirks at Mitsu and Ayumi* What are we going to do?
* Ayumi is trying without sucess to stop crying.

R-Ran-oneesan is hurt...
"Find out the puzzle and it's meaning. I may not know my kanji, but.. We still have you and Haibara-san. Right?" He looks to Haibara
*sniff* *tears slow*

Ran's strong. She'll make it through. Hakase's here, and Heiji's down the hall. There are plenty of people here to keep an eye out for trouble.

*swallows the last of her tears and puts on a brave face*
Yes, actually, she's very strong. *walks out the room, smiling*
Shhh! *raises a finger to his lips at "Oniisan"; he'd let it slide the first time*
Oniisan...what do you want Ayumi to do?
He walks over to Haibara and puts a hand on her shoulder. "I may not know everything... But.. Conan-kun asked me to protect you, and i plan to do that. Even if.. I am just a kid."
* Ayumi stands up, wiping away the last of her tears and walks closer to Conan.
* Nurse stares at the kids and smiles
Sorry...Conan-kun...
*he takes out his pocketbook and looks at what he'd written down from the puzzle* 1218 "Good town seven shop".... *he blinks, considering other ways it could be written*
* Ayumi looks at the puzzle in the notebook
"You are strong willed, Tsuburaya-kun. Resourceful..." She looked to Ayumi's scared face and to Conan. "I'll do what I can." She shrugged.
"Un!"
1218? Is that a coordinate or an address?
Sir... *to Hakase*

Mitsuhiko looks over conan's shoulder. "Isn't that the same kanji for perfecture?" He points to the first one.
Mouri-san is breathing again, by her own *smiles* You can see her now... She's concious. Ah! Please! Dont talk about what happened!

* ProfessorAgasa hoists himself up from the bench and considers going to the kids, but then goes to Ran alone.
Yes, she is. *smiles at Ayumi*

*enters the room* How are you feeling? *with a low tone, cheking her pulse*

We were in the hospital, and Ran narrowly recovered from a sudden shock.
Conan deciphered the clues in the latest police report.
And there was much OOC to be had all around!
What will Conan find waiting for him at the mysterious address?

It's 1218 Town Naraya! *he takes off towards the hospital entrance, pulling Ayumi's along behind him*
* Ayumi follows, happy to have something to do
* HaibaraAi wonders is she should follow
Ne, Conan-kun....how are we going to get there?
"Ah!" Mitsuhiko barely heard Conan-kun since he was focused on Ran-san. "Hakase, keep an eye on Ran-san!" Mitsuhiko ran out of her room and grabbed Haibara's hand. "C'mon. We can't let them go alone!" He pulled her along
* ProfessorAgasa starts to follow, but stops.
Ah-- But what if Ran-kun and Heiji-kun need me?
* ProfessorAgasa mutters, "You better be careful, Shinichi..."
* HaibaraAi looks back at Hakase
Heiji saw the four run by. "Oi! Be careful this time!" He shouted from his bed
"Hattori-kun should be fine, he won't need you as much as Ran-san," she called back to him
* ProfessorAgasa nods.
I've got some money with me, and we can walk or run there if we have to. Come on! *he pulls her outside, and grins slightly when he sees Mitsu and Haibara are following them*
"Ahou..." He lightly banged his head on the pillow. He felt so useless...

It's an address, Mitsuhiko. *pauses at the end of a block of what looks like a major street, and pulls a map out of his back pocket to find the street they're headed towards*
* Ayumi tries to get a look at the map over Conan's shoulder
*looks over it* Ah, here it is. *points to the street, finding it is, indeed, not too far* Let's go! *glances up and finds the crosswalk light is green and darts across towards their destination*
Mitsuhiko was getting excited, he could see why Conan wanted to run to get everywhere. The adrenaline was overpowering.
* Ayumi follows, still being pulled along because Conan never quite let go of her hand.

* HaibaraAi follows, not saying anything
*finds the street, and begins searching for the address, having already found they were near the block due to they path they took to reach the street*

*examines the map closer, finding the address itself and corrects his path to reach it, putting the map back in his pocket before reaching their destination*
We have to find Oniisan! *pretending that she doesn't know because she doesn't know that Mitsu knows*
"Yeah. We need to find Shinichi-san."
Conan-kun? Did we find it yet?
*standing at the path to the doorway, looking at the front door* Ah... It's right here. *his eyes narrow slightly; how close were they? Had they passed the biggest danger already?*

It looks....kinda plain....
"I was kind of expecting something more suspicious looking..." He stepped closer to the house
Well... Think of it this way: Shinichi-oniisan is a famous person, ne? If a famous person wants to not be found... wouldn't they try to find a place that doesn't look suspicous or fancy?
Just because it's looks normal on the outside, doesn't mean it doesn't have secrets

*puts his hands in his pockets and walks towards the door, deciding to try a forward approach*
* Ayumi follows Conan
Mitsuhiko follows Conan and looks around.
* HaibaraAi hesitates, then follows them
*reaches the door, and after a slight hesitation, reaches up to push the doorbell*

* Ayumi is standing right next to Conan.
* Resident opens the door open a crack and looks through, before opening it more widely.

*takes his shoes off, and glances towards the man briefly; it's slightly suspicious, but he decides he can investigate it more after looking around more*

"It was easy." SHe smirked and followed Mitsuhiko
We'll look for something that might be related to the puzzle first. We'll go room by room. *he picks the closest unlocked room first and begins his investigation, seeming to just be walking around at first*
"I suppose it'd be quicker if we split up. Tsuburaya-kun?" She walked to another unlocked room.
* Ayumi starts in the next room over, walking slowly around the edge of the room to see if she can spot anything out of place or that might be related to Oniisan.

"What?" Mitsuhiko looks at what Haibara was looking at. "There's so much dust.. It's hardly used." mitsuhiko looked at the furniture srprised
*reaches up and knocks on the door* Oniisan~?

Last time, on Detective Conan...
The Detective Boys found 1218 Town Naraya.
Once there, they investigated and found out someone is being held there!
It looks like a man named Tanaka, from the police department, is involved.
The Chief Investigator has asked Kudou to leave his imposter's case... but it looks like the cases are connected!
Can Shinichi overcome the odds and put an end to this mystery?
This time on Detective Conan... only one truth prevails!

"Conan-kun." He stopped still holding on to Ayumi's hand
"Conan-kun, what did they have to say? Was it important?"

Yes....*to Mitsu* They didn't say anything useful, actually.

But they actually want Shinichi-niichan off the case, too. I did find out that the "Tanaka" person back there is on the police force--in the missing persons department, actually.
So...what do we do now? You told them about the kidnapped person, right? What did they say?
He gave a confused look. Shinichi-san was working on the case too?
No, Ayumi-chan, I just asked if they'd recieved any reports of a missing person. They said no, and asked for us to leave the imposter case alone. Except that's connected to this kidnapping case, so we need to work on both. I think someone in there is our imposter Shinichi-niichan...
So, have you figured anything else out for either?
The kidnapping was covered up--has to have been. Tanaka-san is on the missing persons department and is apparently there on police business. There has also been no report made of a missing person. I think we need some more information before we can continue here, though. Let's go back and have another look at the papers Hat--Heiji-niichan is holding on to.

"Heiji-san! We made big improvements on the Shinichi-san case... But i want to solve it before Conan does!" Proceeds to tell Heiji what they know so far.

Shinichi-kun, what have you learned about the case?

* Murrain shakes her head
"But, but! I want to be sure... I really want to be a great detective like Conan-kun... He's always beat us..."
Sighs. "It's not about competition, it's about catching the right guy. Even Kudo and I may have a challenge and have had different results. But in the end we have the same answer..."
"But he doesn't even give us hints or anything.. It only takes ten seconds and Conan-kun already has the solution!" He turns around on the bed so his feet are hanging over the edge.
Snorts. "Yeah, that's Kudo all right."
His eyes widen as he realizes that all the little odd things through this whole fiasco makes sense. He turns around to see Heiji's 'oh shit' face. "CONAN-KUN IS REALLY-" His mouth is soon covered by Heiji's hand.
"Shhh! You have to be quiet about this!" He harshly whispers. He glances to the hall to see if anyone heard. 'Kudo is going to kill me.'
"Don't worry." He mumbled. "I won't tell. Haibara-san told me it's dangerous. Whatever they are involved in. Now I'm worried every time Conan-kun leaves. Cause Ayumi-chan will be with him. She's been clingy lately..." He remembered when he grabbed her when he found the address.
'Ayumi-chan probably knows too...' Heiji sighed. "I guess that means you'll just have to take my place for a while. Work with Kudo and protect Ayumi-chan and Chisaineechan." He put his hands behind his head.
* ProfessorAgasa nods.
* ProfessorAgasa hands him the badge.
O-*sees Ai* Conan-kun? Are we really going to get anything more out of the files? Ayumi thought you went over those already...and didn't you say that someone in that house was the imposter Oniisan?
* EdogawaConan takes the badge
* EdogawaConan gives Ayumi a wry smile
* HaibaraAi hears Hattori and glares at him
* HaibaraAi walks next to Mitsu
hai, no one can beat Kudou-kun, but maybe you can beat Edogawa-kun
Yeah, mostly I needed to get my badge back and come up with a plan to get in there. We know that the culprit is in that house, but we don't have any backup. No police, and Ran and Hattori are out. So it's just the four of us. We may have to split up or cause distractions in order to free the kidnapped person, so we need to have a way to talk to each other.
* HaibaraAi smiles innocently at Mitsu
What can I do Shinichi-kun?
How are Ran and Hattori? Can we leave them here by themselves for a while?
They're stable, the Nurse said I could go if need be...

Mitsuhiko-kun? Conan-kun said we don't need them anymore. We're getting ready to go. *^_^* We have to go catch the culprit!
* MouriRan sighs, worried about Conan. Why he didn’t come to see her...?
"Yeah, sure." Hands the papers to Mitsuhiko. "There's nothing there, though." He frowned. He looked to Ayumi. "Ayumi. It's not your fault. In fact, if you weren't there then things would have gotten real bad."
*to Hattori* I suppose Edogawa-kun would want to say get well soon
"Yeah."
Really? Ayumi helped?
* EdogawaConan goes to check on Ran while Ayumi is getting Mitsu

C-- Conan-kun?
"Yeah. No one would have been there to protect Conan, so it was good you were there."

We have to find a way inside. Let's not take off all by ourselves though. Ayumi, since you don't have a badge, come with me. Mitsuhiko-kun, Haibara, you go that direction *points at a side of the house* and see if you can find anything. One of you lend your badge to Hakase so we can all keep in contact, OK?
"Ok!" Lends his badge to Hakase.

* Ayumi nods and walks over to stand next to Conan-kun.
Mitsuhiko sneaked up to the house. taking lessons from TV shows

This way, Ayumi-chan. *takes her hand and leads her the other direction around the house, looking for anything useful/interesting*
* MouriRan sneaks out of her room and goes to check on Heiji
Ha-- Hattori-kun?
"Ah, nee-chan..." Remembers hearing the trouble she was having earlier. "I guess you are doing well?"
* HaibaraAi notices windows on the side
Still in one piece! *roll eyes, sitting on a chair*
"Ha- Haibara-san, should I lift you to see what is going on?"

* HaibaraAi gets off Mitsuhiko
"How do we get in then? Break it?" Mitsuhiko looked nervously at the window. "It would create noise and alert them..."
... *sighs, staring at him, sad* Are... are you OK?
Hmm....Can't break the locks. I can break the window open, but that would be rather loud....
*into badge* Mistuhiko-kun! Can you and Haibara create some kind of a distraction? I have to break the window to get in...
"Huh? Yeah, I'm fine. I just had a bit of a run in with trouble. Is all."
*into badge* Sure *To Mitsu* any ideas?
"Yeah." He looks at Haibara-san. "You ready? I think ringing the door bell and making them go away from that section of the house would work..." He was a bit nervous.
He felt like he was talking like a detective.

We discovered that the fake Shinichi was actually Koshimizu Natsuki, the detective of the south!
The police have matters under control as the dust settles... I guess it turns out that Watanabe Eiji and the Fukuoka police aren't so useless after all. Not pointing any fingers. At Conan.
On that note, it looks like things are winding down.

Heiji was sitting anxious in bed. With no way to contact Kudo, he really was antsy.
'Kudo has two phones.. Can't he just lend me one?!' He thought angrily
* ProfessorAgasa wanders into Hattori's room.
Hattori-kun, I had thought you'd like to know that we're back.
"Good!" His face lit up. "I figured out who the fake Kudo is!"
She's in police custody.
Mitsuhiko came into view. "He already figured it out" He looked at him with a nervous smile
Heiji scrowled. "Figures..."
He laid back into his bed. "Mind getting Kudo in here soon?"
I don't know where Kudou-kun is.
He nodded. "I think something important was found out too. He'll definitely be here to tell you.."
But Conan-kun and Ran-kun are together right now.
I'm sure Conan-kun will visit you, if that's any consolation.
Mitsuhiko blinked. 'Oh yeah.. He doesn't know I know..'

And we're only doors away from Ran, who is sitting there CRYING because Shinichi-kun wasn't here, like it was  built up to be.

"If you keep blaming yourself... How.. can you make it up next time?" He looked at Ayumi with sad eyes

Ayumi should've listened to Heiji-oniisan and not run into things without understanding...
We're leaving for the airport in half an hour. When we get in the cab, I don't want the driver to think we're trying to kill each other.
We can't change the past. Let's move past it.
* HaibaraAi walks towards Ayumi and lightly holds her
"You can sit here and blame yourself. /How could you let yourself get into this?!/ /You are the great detective!/ But the truth is... You can't think that.. Ayumi-chan, I may not be able to do kendo anymore.."
Hai, Hakase...*looks a little depressed*
"But, I can't keep thinking that, cause, I wouldn't be Hattori Heiji if I didn't have this." He points to his head. "I'm a great detective of the west. Just like Kudo is the east. And just like you are apart of the detective boys."
* HaibaraAi starts to lead Ayumi out, grabs Conan by his colar and pulls him up
* EdogawaConan is mentally beating himself up for yet another broken promise
* Ayumi nods and follows Ai out of the room
"You may have caused bad things to happen, but it's up to you to make them right! I haven't even foreseen bad things from happening... But... I managed to get people out safely."

Mitsuhiko leads the way to Heiji's room.

Notices the door is closed and starts to open it. "Heiji-san?"
Heiji turns over on his side alittle with his back to the door. He plays 'dead'

He blinked. "Oh, I guess he went to sleep. He was awake a moment ago..."
"I guess we should just leave a note or something..." He looked aorund the room.
Oh... He really needs some rest. Let's leave him...
Waits for Ran-san to leave. "Ok, I'll be with you in a second."
Mitsuhiko walked up to the bed and whispered. "Thanks for everything, Heiji-san. I'll be a better detective next time!" He smiled.

Mitsuhiko turned around to leave the room.
"Sorry, Mitsuhiko." He whispered back.
"Uh?" He looked at the bed confused.
Mitsuhiko left to join Ran-san and hoped to find the others.
He could tell something was off about Heiji. \Why did he apologize? He has nothing to be sorry for...\
