We all know that the Black Org members have code names associated with alcoholic drinks.
There is a wine called "Snake wine", wiki : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snake_wine
Because of that Snake could be a member of the Org.
I also read somewhere on the forum that there is an alcoholic drink called "Snake bite".

I would love to hear your opinions on this theory...

Correct me if I'm wrong but in the Red tear case , the accomplice called the guy Snake and I remember that they changed the codename in the OVA?  :S

xD That means there could be a link between the MK Org and Black Org

I was always under the impression that Jackal was a name conferred by the police rather than Snake himself. Or it could be one of those plotholes that the anime so adores creating.

Anyways, I think there are definate links.

#1: Snake is searching for a jewel which grants immortality. APTX 4869 is quite possibly an attempt at an Elixir Of Youth; it made two anomolous cases younger, Ai commented that it "wasn't meant to be a poison", and Pisco comments, on seeing her younger form, that she had succeeded in her parents' work; also, Ai repeatedly comments on the folly of going against nature, and Vermouth appears to be unaging. This suggests that they have similar goals.

#2: Snake could be a shortening of Snakebite.

#3: Similar methods. The police are largely unaware of the Black Organization and any deaths caused by them are generally thought to be accidents or blamed on scapegoats. When Snake murdered Toichi, it was completely accepted as an accident. Nobody ever suspected murder, and nobody has yet suspected that anybody is seriously after Kid's life, beyond people like Miyama. Both operate in utter secrecy.

#4: Lack of turf war. They both work in utter secrecy, and the flipside is that they need to have a lot of intel about the worlds that their moving in, legal and otherwise. If they were seperate operations, especially with similar goals, no way would they never have come across one another before; and if they knew about each other, no way would they share turf. One would try to take over the other or wipe the other out; either way, by the end of the day you'd have dead trenchcoats all over the place and one organization left.

#5: It's still unknown how Snake found out Toichi's true identity; evidently he didn't know it to begin with, otherwise it wouldn't have taken him ten years to set up an "accident". However, Vermouth, as Sharon Vineyard, worked very closely with Toichi, learning his arts of disguise and roleplay; it wouldn't take a lot of brain for her to connect a magician with perfect disguise skills and the Kaitou Kid (there are slight intimations that Yuusaku made the connection too). If we hypothesize that Vermouth and Snake are part of the same group, then he almost certainly got this information, accidentally or on purpose, from Vermouth.
