How did I totally miss this thread in my previous forum-trolling? (Now my productivity is going to take a dive, as I have to go watch all the previous AMVs posted here.)

And as long as we're sharing our embarrassing AMV secrets... *cough* A couple years ago, I got really sick and was basically bedridden for two weeks. Since I was going out of my mind with boredom and had the first episode of Magic Kaito on my laptop, I started working on an AMV. I got a few minutes of footage edited, then shelved the project once I was no longer ill. Then last summer, one of the conventions I was directing ended up short on AMVs for the contest and needed some filler to show between entries, so I pulled out my partly-finished project and slapped the rest of it together.
