Let's get you a copy of the general guidelines so that you can make this board the bestest ever in the history of the DCTP Forums!
1. "Story" refers to the DC manga storyline. DC Movies, OVAs, Magic Files, Anime Originals (AOs), and DC Special manga volumes are NOT canon, and therefore they have no bearing on the DC storyline as far as this Story Discussion board is concerned. That is, they did not happen.
2. You may obviously discuss pairings (they are part of the story, after all) in this board - up to a certain point. Pairing discussions, like anything else in this board, must be based on the story vs. wild speculation and shock-value "let's throw this out there!" For example, if you want to discuss whether something that happened in the most recent manga file or case is the turning point in A and B's relationship, you may do it here. However, keep in mind that there already exist threads in the General Discussion Board if you simply wish to talk about A and B together (or B and C, etc.) in general. Also, remember your spoiler tags!
3. Spoiler tags! You may discuss manga files/cases that have not yet been animated in this board. However! If those files have not yet been released as scanlations BY DCTP, it would behoove you to keep those discussions in spoiler tags. Spoiler tags are made by using this bit of code:
Code: Select all
[spoiler]OMG CAN YOU BELIEVE WHAT HAPPENED IN THE LATEST FILE? CONAN'S IN DEEP DOO DOO NOW! ZAMG[/spoiler]
Code: Select all
[spoiler=Possible solution!]Based on X, Y, and Z and the angle of K, the culprit must have used B to bludgeon the victim. Since B was not available during time V, the culprit must be M![/spoiler]
If your entire thread is about the solution to an arc, label the thread subject appropriately (take care to avoid spoiling anything in the title, but make it clear the thread itself contains spoilers) and you do not have to worry about spoiler boxes.
5. When posting someone else's theory (to talk about or reference) from another site, use the Quote button to link the original article or post. Similar to the spoiler code, you paste the link to the original article into the quote tag:
Code: Select all
[quote="http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Tooru_Amuro#Bourbon"]Some people suspect Amuro is Bourbon because the character he is named after, Amuro Ray, is the mortal enemy of the character Shuichi Akai is named after, Char Aznable. Besides the name, other evidence for Amuro being Bourbon includes:
He is a detective and very skilled at information gathering.
He is male as the codename Bourbon implies. The Black Organization codename pattern is that hard liquors are used for men's codenames, and Kir used a male specific pronoun to refer to Bourbon in the Department Store Bomber Case.[1]
He has a type of personality Gin would not like. Gin thinks Bourbon is irritating.[2]
When Amuro offers Kogoro an unknown "tuition" per case Kogoro brings him on, the amount he offers is enough to get Kogoro excited and accept Amuro as an apprentice without hesitation. This is strange because Amuro would not be expected to have much money because he is young, lacks a formal agency, and works part time at restaurants in one of the most expensive cities in the world to live in.[/quote]
This avoids confusion, and gives credit to the original author.http://www.detectiveconanworld.com/wiki/Tooru_Amuro#Bourbon wrote:Some people suspect Amuro is Bourbon because the character he is named after, Amuro Ray, is the mortal enemy of the character Shuichi Akai is named after, Char Aznable. 6. Be nice, be receptive of other's thoughts and ideas. Don't get personal, thanks.
